Kelly Macdonald on Brave!

Brave News

Actress Kelly Macdonald gushed about her role in Brave when she spoke to NBC Connecticut earlier this week.

Currently making the rounds in support of the last installment in the Harry Potter series, the Scottish born thespian is bracing herself for the attention she’ll surely attract thanks to her high profile character in Pixar’s upcoming film. Macdonald proudly takes on the role of Princess Merida, replacing Reese Witherspoon due to scheduling conflicts.

Here’s an excerpt from the article:

"I really, really can’t contain myself about Brave… It was something completely new. I’m not finished yet. I still have some things to do, but it’s just such a different thing, and I didn’t really have very much to go on. They had some animation to show me. I know what she looks like, but it’s nowhere near completion. The animators have been working for years and years on this thing. With all the actors that they’ve brought onboard, that means it’s nearing its vision. I’m just so impressed that I’m getting to work with people who are brilliant. Pixar is the best company, I think.”

Brave opens in US theaters on June 22, 2012.
