Mr. Potato Head's eyebrows

Hello Pixar Planet, I just joined today!! I have a question about Mr. Potato Head’s eyebrows. How are they attached to his head? In the first scene in Toy Story, when Andy removes One Eyed Bart’s eye, his eyebrow seems to be attached to his eyes. However, after the toys come alive, his eyebrows seem to be seperate from his eye as Mr. Potato Head puts his parts back on. Also, when h does his Picasso face, his eyebrows seem to be attached again. But in TS2, when Utility Belt Buzz holds Potato Head’s eye through Al’s vent, his right eyebrow is on his head. My basic question is: How do Potato head’s eyebrows function?

Well to tell you the truth i dont think anyone knows how they function they just do what they want to do i guess pixar cant really tell us how they function either because i dont think they know either  .

Q. How do Potato head’s eyebrows function?

A. However the script and/or animators decide they are going to function. Mr Potato Head’s eyes are just one of the inconsistencies in the Toy Story films.

I guess you could make the argument that the eyes are an independent part of Mr Potato Head and he can decide whether they’re attached to his eyes, to his “head/face/body” or completely separate.

These are good thoughts.

I think we discussed this on some other forum…

I know Pixar probably never thought of it, but in real life, there could holes in the top of the eyes and pegs in the eyebrows.

Except we’ve seen his potato without any parts, there are no holes for brow pegs.

No, I meant actually on his eye.

Oh, well that wouldn’t work either since his toy mode does not always have his brows directly touching its eyes. truth is we weren’t meant to think about it. There’s only two logical explanations. something sticky on the brows (like mine are with Tyler’s brows, they have sticky tack on the back) or magnets inside the potato. Both seem kinda far fetched.

What do you mean? In Toy Story, the eyebrows do touch the top of the eye.

Yeah that’s a good point. I have thought about that before.

yeah he knows they do touch the top of the eyes but it wouldnt work because sometime they dont touch the tops of the eyes and they just move freely.

Well, if that’s the case, he’s in alive mode. There’s no telling how a toy acts or functions when alive. Any other characters’ eyebrows can move, so what’s the big difference?

You got a point there.

in toy story, sure. but there is a gap in TS2, and in TS3 their not touching the eyes at all.

The only way I can explain that is how characters’ faces change when they’re in toy mode. It’s weird, and I wish there was an explanation. One instance is how Mr. Potato Head’s closed-mouth grin turns into a teeth-baring smile by the end. At this point, it’s just starting to look like an inconsistance that no one bothered to take note of. Anyways, is there something below the left side of his eyebrow in that picture? Can’t be a shadow.

Yeah, what is that thing under his right eyebrow?

What thing are you talking about

If you look closely in Kyle’s picture of Mr. Potato Head in this thread, you can see a small brown thing under his eyebrow.
