Box Office Buzz: TS3 Breaks June/Pixar Record with $110M Take! [UPDATE]

Box Office News Toy Story 3

Pixar continues its streak of #1 weekends with Toy Story 3, the studio’s 11th consecutive hit.

On Friday, the newly released three-quel made history with $41 million dollars: the biggest opening day ever for an animated film! Analysts put Saturday at $37 million and Sunday at $32 million for a weekend total of:

$109,000,000 $110,307,189

This phenomenal take sets the last three days apart as the highest grossing Pixar opening weekend by far! In fact, the studio’s previous high was held by The Incredibles at $71 million. Director Lee Unkrich also confirms that Toy Story 3 holds the biggest June opening of all time.

International numbers are also in! A handful of countries with similar opening weekends helped Toy Story 3 earn an estimated $44,800,000 at the foreign box office. Pixar’s latest should finish its worldwide rollout by September.
