Disclaimer: We are not sure of the legitimacy of this announcement since there was no source cited, but if this is true, then I’m very excited.
We recently got a tip that Luxo Jr., the hoping lamp that premiered in Pixar’s first short in 1986 of the same name, will be coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year as part of the Living Character Initiative!
Hoping out of the screen from his usual appearance in the Pixar intro, guests of the park will get to see the most famous desk lamp on Earth, seemingly alive, just in time for Up this May! Presumably, Luxo Jr. would be in the Pixar Place section of the park, the same place where Toy Story Midway Mania! is located! With rumors of a Monsters, Inc. coaster coming to this "land" and lesser rumors circulating about some other Pixar related attractions such as Cars Land clones and a Pixar 3D show, the Luxo Jr. animatronic would be the icing on the cake!
We are told the announcement comes from the internal Imagineering site. Let’s cross our fingers this tip is legit. What do you think, real or not?
