The giant Lamp is 6.5m tall, made of steel and fibreglass and is lit by 18 energy efficient fluorescent light bulbs.

"We had a wonderful experience working with the extraordinary team at ACMI, who took an exhibition of our original artwork, treated it with love, care and respect and presented it in a way that far exceeded our very high expectations," said John Lasseter. "It was a fantastically successful collaboration between two like-minded organisations and now we have Luxo Jr as a lasting legacy of a relationship that we look forward to growing positively into the future".
