Convention John Lasseter Lee Unkrich News Toy Story Toy Story 2 Toy Story 3

San Diego Comic-Con International has grown to become the world’s biggest pop culture event and Pixar has been a regular these past few years.

The celebrated animation studio brought with them behind the scenes looks at films such as Ratatouille, WALL•E and of course Up. Many times, the convention has been a platform for hype of Pixar’s latest, but usually the big summer blockbuster franchises are in the spotlight. This year, Pixar will get to join in the ranks with the unveilments of Toy Story/Toy Story 2 in 3D and Toy Story 3.

According to today’s press release, Walt Disney Pictures animation panel is being headlined by some of animation’s greatest, John Lasseter and Hayao Miyazaki on July 24th! Alongside will be TS3 director Lee Unkrich with Walt Disney Animation Studio’s Kirk Wise, Ron Clements and John Musker promoting such films as WDAS’s The Princess and the Frog, Prep and Landing (TV special), Miyazaki’s Ponyo, Pixar’s releases for Fall 2009-Summer 2010 and more! Each presenter will have "insights, trailers and select film sequences" on hand.

Remy himself, Patton Oswalt, will be holding a Q&A session with the directors after the panel. Also representing Walt Disney Pictures are directors and producers from highly anticipated upcoming live-action films such as Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and Tron 2, although it’s on the 23rd!

Comic-Con will be held at the San Diego Convention Center  from July 23-26. Learn more about the event, including scheduled times, at the official site. Tickets are currently sold out. If you are planning to attend, drop us a line and send us those pictures!
