Toy Story 3 Blu-ray: Special Features Revealed!

If you’ve been reading the blog lately, chances are you’ve heard about Pixar’s November 2nd releases — in particular, Toy Story 3.

We’ve heard comments on the box-art and speculation surrounding its content, but what exactly will you find once you pop in each disc? Below you’ll find a (complete?) set of bonus features as listed on with some clarifications by yours truly:

DVD + Blu-ray Features
• Cars 2 Teaser Trailer
• Day And Night Theatrical Short
• Bonus: The Gang’s All Here, Toys! Epilogue
• Buzz Lightyear Mission Logs: The Science Of Adventure (with NASA)
• Paths To Pixar: Editorial
• Studio Stories: Where’s Gordon, Cereal Bar, Clean Start
• A Toy’s Eye View: Creating A Whole New Land
• Alex Syntek (Mexican Music Video for You’ve Got a Friend in Me)

Blu-ray Only Features
• Cine-explore by director Lee Unkrich and producer Darla K. Anderson
• Beyond The Toybox – Commentary Track
• Beginnings with Michael Arndt
• Bonnie’s Playtime – A Story Roundtable
• Roundin’ Up A Western Opening
• Goodbye Andy
• The Accidental Toymakers Of Pixar
• Life Of A Short
• Making of Day & Night
• Ken’s Dating Tips & Lotso Commercials
• "Dancing With The Stars" at Pixar
• Game: Toy Story Trivia Dash

Some favorites from the Toy Story and Toy Story 2 Blu-ray discs are back in Toy Story 3. You’ll find new installments of Buzz Lightyear Mission Logs, Paths to Pixar and Studio Stories. We’ll also get our first sneak peek at Cars 2 — at last!

"Missing" Features: There’s no sign of a DVD short this time around. Although it has become a Pixar staple, there’s always the possibility that the Toy Story short that’s set to play in front of Cars 2 was originally meant for the home video release. I’m guessing it was delayed due to time constraints.

You can pre-order three versions of the film right now: a 4-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack (SRP $45.99), a 2-Disc Blu-ray (SRP $39.99) (with alternate cover) and a stand-alone DVD (SRP $29.99). Choose wisely!

What are you looking forward to the most from Toy Story 3 on Blu-ray?

    I so totally love the extra bonus features;
Cant wait to look at things like ‘Goodbye Andy’,
Path to Pixar: Editorial. . .

Most anticipating will be the ‘Path to Pixar’ . . .Really want to know what is this?

    Anyone can share?

Anonymous — Have you seen the TS and TS2 Blu-ray discs? Basically, Paths to Pixar is a little documentary featurette in which people who work in certain departments talk about their jobs, how they got to Pixar and give out advice on how you can get where they’re at. You can see the other two in the earlier releases I mentioned. 🙂

    I guess this isn’t getting a 3D Blu Ray release then….

If this doesn’t get a special DVD short I am going to cry salty salty tears

I thought that the DVD short (if they had one) would be Groovin’ with Ken until it was released online. But I won’t be disappointed personally if there isn’t one, because I know the Cars 2 short is coming! Then again, I can’t get enough Toy Story, or anything Pixar for that matter, so the more, the merrier!

What should I buy: Toy Story 3? Cars Toons? Or Gran Turismo 5? I’m waiting for these 5 years now and they all coming out Nov. 2nd simultaneously. I’m all out of :€. Haha!

I’ll bet “The Gang’s All Here, Toys! Epilogue” is the equivalent of the DVD short.

Last Anonymous — I’m willing to bet that it’s the epilogue we saw during the end credits. 😉

I wish there were some deleted scenes included.

Besides the movie, the Cars 2 trailer!

Wait wait wait… Does that mean that if we get the Blu-Ray 4-Disc combo, we will miss out on the Blu-Ray Only special features?? Say it ain’t so!!!

If that is the case, shouldn’t we be rewarded for getting the 4-Disc combo? Why do we get less features?

  12. bjc92 says:

No, if you get the Blu-Ray 4-Disc combo you’ll still get the Blu-Ray only features. It’s talking about the actual disc itself. So the Blu-Ray + DVD features are on both the Blu-Ray discs and the DVDs. The Blu-Ray special features are only on the Blu-Ray discs, included in every version you buy that has the Blu-Rays.

  13. Anonymous says:

Ah, so it should actually be “Blu-Ray & DVD”, not “Blu-Ray + DVD.” Thanks. That makes more sense.

  14. martini833 says:

Yeah, I used a “+” sign as a stylized ampersand.

  15. bjc92 says:

Boy, I must be getting spoiled, because I want more than is currently listed in the special features. Oh well, it’ll still be good! 🙂
