Toy Story 3 entered the 2010 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards with five nominations, but how did the celebrated film fare in today’s ceremony?
Although Pixar’s latest (and the best reviewed film of the year) wasn’t able to capture Best Picture, it did go home with one key prize. In another banner year for animation, the Lee Unkrich-directed gem beat out the following competition for Best Animated Feature:
• Despicable Me
• How to Train Your Dragon
• The Illusionist
• Tangled
• Toy Story 3 Winner
Lee Unkrich was on hand to accept the prestigious prize. Toy Story 3 was also in the running (but did not win) in the following categories: Best Song (We Belong Together), Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Sound.

Wait, best ADAPTED? What? Why?
Sequels are considered adapted because they are (technically) an adaptation of the original work. 🙂
it feels really annoying how it feels it keeps getting best animated feature but not best picture from these different award ceremonies or whatever. It feels like the fact that its animated and rated “G” (huge mistake) makes it seem it cant be better than Social Network or any other movie being labeled as a best picture movie. I have not seen the Social Network, but a movie that is a 3rd and comes back 11 years later and has a great moral should win best picture once. I know about Time Magazine’s making it #1 but come on, it really deserves an award for best picture from an award ceremony.
