Up Screenplay Now Available from Disney Studio Awards!

Academy Awards Awards News UP

From the writer of Toy Story and Monsters, Inc. comes… Up!

For the Academy’s (and now your) reading pleasure, The Walt Disney Studios’ For Your Consideration website now includes a PDF version of the Up screenplay! Written by Pete Docter, Bob Peterson, and Tom McCarthy, this 100 page script is an extremely visual representation of Pixar’s 2009 film, as far as I’ve read.

It’s really no wonder that the Pixarians responsible for this combination of dialogue and imagery have been nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. This has been a common category for Pixar to land in although the studio has never taken home that particular Oscar. In fact, Pete Docter was among those nominated when the first Toy Story was in the running.

Give the screenplay a look through, or (if you have the time) a full read by clicking on "UP" at this link. You’ll also find some selections from the Up soundtrack on the site.

Maybe your favorite moment in the film is as poetically written as it is realized on screen. Report back with your opinions.
