Upcoming Pixar Reviews Monsters, Inc. on Blu-ray!

Blu-Ray Monsters, Inc. News Pete Docter Pixar

It seems almost impossible for someone to walk down a store isle and not notice the eye-catching packaging of Monsters, Inc. on Blu-ray.

But as you know, what’s inside this holofoiled release is what really counts! Fortunately, fans won’t be complaining after getting their hands on the 4-Disc release of Pixar’s 2001 classic which looks and sounds better than ever! The set includes 2 Blu-rays, the original DVD release and a digital copy of the film.

The new content inside really does warrant a purchase all by itself. You don’t want to miss Filmmaker’s Roundtable, it’s simply genius! If you’ve seen the one for A Bug’s Life, you’ve got an idea of what you’ll get. Pete Docter, Lee Unkrich, Bob Peterson and Darla K. Anderson all sit down to discuss the ups and downs of production but the most intriguing part is when they hint at a Monsters sequel…

Also new to the Inc. is a very impressive featurette that showcases Tokyo Disneyland’s new attraction, Monsters, Inc. Ride ‘n Go Seek! The Disney Imagineers, Pete Docter and Pixar’s consultant Roger Gould go through the inspiration and application of the new dark ride. I can’t say I’ve checked out Roz’s 100 Door Challenge game, but judging by Up’s Blu-ray game it should be awesome, the concept reminds me of the WarioWare games.

As for the rest of the content, I’m sure most of you have the 2-Disc special edition DVD at home by now, so I’m going to skip that whole unnecessary review and just let you know that all the content from that release is back. Yes, that means all the goodies from Pixar, For the Birds and Mike’s New Car are all included, many of which are now in HD!

This new release definitely deserves a 10/10 for top-notch filmmaking and special features! Check out Mike, Sulley, Boo and the gang in glorious high-definition on November 10th. Pre-order your copy here.

Last but not least: Boo! It’s Halloween, have a fun and safe holiday. Now I’m off to get some candy…
