{"id":1819,"date":"2008-03-12T15:16:26","date_gmt":"2008-03-12T15:16:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pixarplanet.com\/blog\/moving-up-the-ladder"},"modified":"2008-03-12T15:16:26","modified_gmt":"2008-03-12T15:16:26","slug":"moving-up-the-ladder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pixarplanet.com\/blog\/moving-up-the-ladder\/","title":{"rendered":"Moving Up The Ladder"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/pixarplanet.com\/blog\/images\/124.jpg\" width=\"200\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" style=\"\" \/>The LA Times&#8217; John Horn, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment\/news\/movies\/la-et-pixar12mar12,1,1507644.story?page=1\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">writes about previous Pixar employees<\/a> who have now gone on to direct animated feature films at other studios.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>Some of these people include Jimmy Hayward, an animator at Pixar who moved to Blue Sky Studios in 2002, and has just directed <span style=\"font-style: italic; \">Horton Hears A Who! <\/span>Then there is Ash Brannon, who is credited with story work on<span style=\"font-style: italic; \"> A Bug&#8217;s Life<\/span> and <span style=\"font-style: italic; \">Toy Story<\/span>, and also the original director of <span style=\"font-style: italic; \">Toy Story 2<\/span>, he has since moved to Sony Pictures Animation to direct <span style=\"font-style: italic; \">Open Season<\/span> and <span style=\"font-style: italic; \">Surf&#8217;s Up<\/span>.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>Probably of most interest is the news of Jan Pinkava having left Pixar to direct animated features for other producers.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-style: italic; \">Pinkava speaks highly of Pixar. &quot;It&#8217;s a tremendous environment, a company based on everybody wanting to do great animation.&quot; But after &quot;Ratatouille&quot; he decided it was time to go. &quot;I was never quite on the inside of Pixar &#8212; I was on the edge of the inner circle. But I have no complaints, really. None.&quot;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> says the article. And all the other artists speak very highly of Pixar too.
