I’m sorry to say we missed this very important story over the week, but better late than never! The Children’s Hospice and Palliative Care Coalition<\/a> has been collecting donations to purchase 17,000 balloons that will seemingly lift a house from its foundation just like in Up.<\/p>\n

Balloons for Hope<\/a> was inspired by the little girl<\/a> who died with her wish of seeing Up finally granted. If you would like, you can still purchase a balloon, proceeds will go towards children in need of a last dying wish-come-true due to life-threatening, terminal conditions. Each balloon, on sale for $20, will represent the person of your choice and together will help about 17,000 children. If you are in the Santa Cruz, CA area you may want to stop by today (Sept. 5th) at 4 PM Pacific<\/strong> to witness the spectacle. The address of Mike Bethke’s (organizer’s) Victorian house (to be lifted by hydraulics, seemingly by balloons) is 229 Union St. Santa Cruz, CA<\/strong>. <\/p>\n
