<\/a>I recently received my preview copy of Up<\/em> on Blu-ray<\/a> (4-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack) and I just have to say it’s a definite must-have set for every Pixar fan! <\/p>\n

If you saw Up<\/em> in theatres and read my review<\/a> from back in May, you already know what I thought of the film. It’s simply a masterpiece and the home video only further reinforces this fact! From the time you see the handsome packaging, your curiosty will sky rocket. <\/p>\n

Alright, let’s briefly touch on the technical side of things. As you’d expect from Pixar, each frame is crystal clear (1080p ) and the sound seems to fill the room. The menu’s are literally a breeze and navigation is simple. Blu-ray makes it a truly engrossing experience as you’re transported into Pete Docter and co.‘s world. <\/p>\n

You’re probably wondering what special goodies Pixar has in store for fans. So far, I haven’t been able to go through the whole package but the first disc (feature presentation) is generous with a taste of what other bonuses there are available. [UPDATED Now] As soon as I’m able to, I’ll update with a summary of what I thought of the special features on the second disc. As you’re probably aware, the two other discs are not Blu-rays but an extra DVD<\/span> (with all Disc 1 content besides Cine-Explore) and the famous digital copy of the film. <\/p>\n

So far, I’ve checked out snippets of the movie, and it’s simply as gorgeous as you remember it, I’ll give you my thoughts on the commentary (with Cine-Explore) soon. Besides that there are very few featurettes available on this disc, it’s just a taste of the other bonus features. Nonetheless, they’re very well executed and must sees! Go on the real-life adventure of a lifetime with the crew of Up in Adventure is Out There<\/em> and examine the possible plights of the movie’s villain in The Many Endings of Muntz<\/em>! <\/p>\n

I also got my first look at the brand new short film, Dug’s Special Mission<\/em>, which begins on the loyal mutt’s birthday. I won’t spoil too much from this hilarious short but I will say it also has a touching and emotional side to it that I did not expect. It’s a nice little way of connecting Dug and Carl’s story going back to the "Hi There, My Name is Dug" scene. Ronnie del Carmen<\/a>‘s directorial debut runs at 4 minutes and 40 seconds: very short, but very sweet. <\/p>\n

Update:<\/strong> The commentary on Disc 1 is superb! Anyway, as I popped in Disc 2 I was immediately transported into the world of Pixar! This  Blu-ray is packed with numerous documentaries chronicling Pixar’s creative process behind every main aspect of Up. Go into great detail about Carl, Russell, Dug, Kevin, the house and more. It’s very informative and some things may be hilarious to fans, like comments made by Pete Sohn!! <\/p>\n

Also included is a great montage of all the silly promos made just for Up, they’re actually compilled in a way where they seem purposely continuous. I was very impressed and surprised by the Global Guardian Badge Game<\/em>, it’s actually really fun for those who have mastered a world map and great for beginners to learn geography. Though all those features are amazing, the highlight of this disc has to be Married Life<\/em>, a storyboarded version of the famous tear jerker from Up, you’re in for a real treat! I have nothing to complain about with this disc.<\/p>\n
