<\/a>As early as mid-last year<\/a>, we’ve been getting some implicit<\/a> hints<\/a> pointing to a sequel in the dearly beloved world of Pixar’s 2001 hit Monsters, Inc.<\/p>\n

Turns out MI2 isn’t exactly happening. At least, not under Pete Docter’s watch for now. Good news is, Doc’s got a new puppy in early development according to his latest interview with New York Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It’s a bittersweet announcement mostly because I had warmed up to seeing the further adventures of Mike and Sulley. On the other hand, I can’t complain about an original Pete Docter flick! What we know so far is that he’s been working on the concept for a few weeks in between the Up publicity tour. No title or plot has been announced at the moment, but the interview<\/a> is a great read and there’s much more to enjoy.<\/p>\n

For the time being we can appreciate Pete Docter’s current classics, Up<\/a> and Monsters, Inc.<\/a>, on  Blu-ray and DVD<\/span> starting tomorrow! In related news, marketing for those new releases has picked up monumentally as evidenced by the TV Spots (please send in links of any that have gone online) and Disney’s Up-i-fied website<\/a>! <\/p>\n
