Goodbye, 2009! Hello, 2010! Welcome, new decade!<\/p>\n

Here at Upcoming Pixar and Pixar Planet, we’re very excited about the New Year. First, I’d like to hype everyone up for what’s coming in 2010: <\/p>\n

• On March 23rd, 2010 we’ll see the release of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 on Blu-ray<\/a>!
\n• The date we’ve been patiently waiting for, June 18th, 2010, sees the US theatrical release of Toy Story 3<\/a>!
\n• Among the numerous tie-ins, we’ll see the official soundtrack and The Art of… book<\/a> from TS3.
\n• Don’t forget that there’s also a brand new short attached to the highly anticipated sequel. In early 2010 we should look out for that announcement.
\n• Supposedly the new Vancouver studio, Pixar Canada<\/a>, is set to open this year. The studio will create new shorts starring some of our favorite characters.
\n• Of course we can expect all sorts of other Blu-ray releases like Toy Story 3 (hopefully Finding Nemo and\/or The Incredibles) in November.
\n…and, knowing Pixar, so much more!!<\/p>\n

But a Happy New Year post wouldn’t be complete without a short look back at 2009. In the past year…:<\/p>\n

• Pixar released its first 3D feature film, Up<\/a>, which has made about $710 million dollars at the worldwide box-office since it’s opening on May 29th, 2009. This is Pixar’s 10th feature and the second directed by Pete Docter, keeping up Pixar’s tradition for quality as the best reviewed movie of the year!
\n• Two new shorts premiered. Partly Cloudy<\/a>, theatrically with Up, and the DVD<\/span>\/Blu-ray exclusive, Dug’s Special Mission. A new Cars Toon also premiered, Unidentified Flying Mater<\/a>.
\n• Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were theatrically re-released in 3D as a double feature on October 2nd, 2009.
\n• Some amazing merchandise was made available in 2009 including The Art of Up<\/a>, Pixarpedia<\/a> and the Up Soundtrack<\/a>.
\n• A Bug’s Life on Blu-ray<\/a> was released on May 19th, 2009.
\n• Monsters, Inc. on Blu-ray<\/a> and Up on Blu-ray\/DVD<\/a> were both released on November 10th, 2009.<\/p>\n

I’d love to look back at the past decade but frankly I’m running out of time to write this. Let’s just say it was immensely successful — because it was. I’ll just put some names out there: Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, WALL<\/span>•E, Up, Disney-Pixar acquisition, Emeryville studio.
