<\/a>Disney’s brand new, one-of-a-kind Facebook application<\/a> takes its ‘maiden voyage’ with Toy Story 3. <\/p>\n

Dubbed Disney Tickets Together<\/a>, the new movie theatre solution attracted the attention of The New York Times<\/a>, so much so that the publication is currently running a profile<\/a> on its social networking possibilities. <\/p>\n

The app’s purpose is to make sure that none of your friends get left behind at screenings (such as Pixar’s latest) which may be sold out on arrival. The way it works is simple, you can buy a ticket in advance and then invite your friends along — all without leaving Facebook. Go check it out<\/a>, you may even be able to find Toy Story 3 pre-release tickets in your area right now.<\/p>\n

I know I’ll be using this app. Last year, getting a large group of friends to agree on a date and time to see Up was a complete disaster. Hopefully, Disney Tickets Together can fix that problem this year. <\/p>\n

Whether you’re getting your tickets through this new service or not, one thing’s for sure: sales will be enormous. In fact, Box Office Mojo<\/a>‘s latest poll indicates<\/a> that 53% of users are most excited to see Toy Story 3 this June compared to runner up "The A-Team" with only 13% of the votes. Can’t say I’m surprised.<\/p>\n

Now that we’re on the subject of numbers, Disney publicized their predictions<\/a> for this year’s Toy Story merchandising take. It’s quite ambitious (at $2.4 bil.), but as Stitch Kingdom points out<\/a>, the most interesting part of the analysis is further confirmation of something that John Lasseter made clear in the Pixar Canada video<\/a>: Toy Story Toons are definitely coming, and according to Reuters<\/a>, we can expect four <\/em>new shorts each year!<\/p>\n
