In an unexpected move, 29 pieces of concept art from Gary Rydstrom’s amphibian project were released on Disney\/Pixar’s official Facebook fanpage<\/a>. As we’ve come to expect from the studio, everything looks gorgeous.<\/p>\n

On one hand, you have to trust that Pixar shelved the project with good reason… but just look at that art! How could they resist? Today’s big reveal covers all the bases; you’ll see the title character with Brooke as well as a group of scientists and sidekicks. <\/p>\n

Honestly, I never thought Pixar would ever mention Newt again, but I’m definitely not complaining. If anything, we’ll have a better idea of how the movie might have played out.<\/p>\n
