<\/a>Pixar movies have always been massive box office hits, and Brave<\/em> looks to be no different. Brave<\/em>‘s strong opening weekend, on par with most of Pixar’s successes, is a good sign for the film’s financial future.<\/p>\n

With an estimated $25 million Friday gross from 4,164 theaters, Brave<\/em> is on track to make around $70 million domestically this weekend. This easily puts the studio’s latest at the #1 spot at the box office, like every Pixar film before it. <\/p>\n

It’s unclear, though, where Brave<\/em> may go at this point; every Pixar film in the 2000s besides Ratatouille<\/em> has passed the $60 million mark in their debut weekend. Will it reach the success of Up<\/em>, or slightly underperform like WALL<\/span>-E<\/em>? A CinemaScore of "A" bodes well for the film, but only time will tell.<\/p>\n

UPDATE<\/span>: <\/strong>More accurate estimates pin the film’s weekend domestic gross at approximately $66,739,000<\/strong>. An estimated $13.5 million international gross boosts Brave<\/em>‘s current total earnings to approximately $80.2 million<\/strong>. This is the 4th greatest June opening weekend of all time, beating out the Cars<\/em> movies and WALL<\/span>-E<\/em>, and should be the fifth highest-grossing Pixar opening weekend of all time!<\/p>\n
