<\/a>Although Monsters Univeristy<\/em> isn’t out until June 21, Pixar’s 3D conversion of the original Monsters, Inc.<\/em> makes its way into theaters next week. In anticipation, Entertainment Weekly<\/a> has released two new stills from Monsters U<\/em>, showcasing the rocky roots of Mike and Sulley’s friendship. <\/p>\n

<\/a>Director Dan Scanlon explains, "This is roughly around the time Mike and Sulley meet. […] They’re at a fraternity party, and this is Mike and Sulley getting off on the wrong foot a little bit." Adding on, producer Kori Rae says "They both approach life in different ways. Mike is the go-getter type, anything is possible, and he’s the super-hard worker. Sulley is different because he’s a great scarer, he has this natural ability, but Mike has to work for it." <\/p>\n

In a Reddit AMA<\/span><\/a> earlier today, Pete Docter said the film "is turning [out] really well — it looks fantastic and is really funny." Hopefully we’ll get a better peek at the film when the next trailer premieres.<\/p>\n
