{"id":870,"date":"2006-03-24T07:43:00","date_gmt":"2006-03-24T07:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pixarplanet.com\/blog\/cars-to-premiere-may-26-at-racetrack"},"modified":"2006-03-24T07:43:00","modified_gmt":"2006-03-24T07:43:00","slug":"cars-to-premiere-may-26-at-racetrack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pixarplanet.com\/blog\/cars-to-premiere-may-26-at-racetrack\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cCars\u201d to premiere May 26 at racetrack"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rwarn17588.wordpress.com\/2006\/03\/23\/cars-to-premiere-may-26-at-racetrack\/\">Route 66 News<\/a> reports that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carsthemovie.com\"><span style=\"font-style:italic;\">Cars<\/span><\/a> will have its premiere on May 26 at Lowe\u2019s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C. <\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"http:\/\/biz.yahoo.com\/prnews\/060323\/lath034.html?.v=46\">news release<\/a> says&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style:italic;\">    Paul Newman, Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, Larry the Cable Guy, <span class=\"caps\">NASCAR<\/span> legends Richard Petty and Darrell Waltrip, and others from the voice cast of the film will be joined by a host of stars from the racing world and 30,000 guests that are expected to attend the \u201cCARS\u201d World Premiere, taking place at the same location as that weekend\u2019s famous Coca Cola 600 <span class=\"caps\">NASCAR<\/span> race. \u2026 A series of four giant custom-built outdoor movie screens (115-feet wide and 50-feet tall) will be constructed at Lowe\u2019s Motor Speedway at Turn #2 of the track. \u2026 Academy Award-winning filmmaker John Lasseter (\u201dToy Story,\u201d \u201cA Bug\u2019s Life,\u201d \u201cToy Story 2\u2033), who directed \u201cCARS\u201d will also be attending along with producer Darla K. Anderson (\u201dA Bug\u2019s Life,\u201d \u201cMonsters, Inc.\u201d), and other key players from Pixar Animation Studios and The Walt Disney Studios.<\/p>\n<p>    Tickets for the premiere will be made available for purchase by the general public starting today. Proceeds will benefit Speedway Children\u2019s Charities, and Association of Hole in the Wall Gang Camps.
