It is absurd that 4*TOWN\u2019s hit \u201cNobody Like U\u201d was snubbed! It was penned by the songwriting duo of Billie Eilish and Finneas O&#8217;Connell (the voice of 4*TOWN&#8217;s Jessie) who also produced two other gems for the soundtrack, &#8220;1 True Love&#8221; and &#8220;U Know What&#8217;s Up.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The song did earn a Grammy nomination however, which is richly deserved. I was just so sure it\u2019d be a shoo-in at the Oscars as well. It was my most played song last year so I just can\u2019t understand (or tolerate!) its exclusion. &#8220;Nobody Like U&#8221; is not simply an energetic pop classic that recalls the early 2000s in which the film is set. It also underscores the most pivotal moment of the film. It may not carry the same emotional weight as &#8220;Remember Me&#8221; from <em>Coco<\/em>, but trust me, it is just as important. No doubt a performance on the Oscars stage would be the highlight of the ceremony, but how unfair for 4*TOWN to perform when they aren\u2019t even nominated. The awards show will be aired on March 13th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But one 4*TOWN performance we can enjoy was at the 20th Unforgettable Gala, hosted by <a href=\"https:\/\/charactermedia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Character Media<\/a>, which honors Asians in the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"4*TOWN - \u201c1 True Love\u201d and \u201cNobody Like U\u201d (LIVE from the 20th Unforgettable Gala)\" width=\"862\" height=\"485\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VaUsMh1lcds?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I also relate so much to <em>Turning Red<\/em> star Sandra Oh at this performance!
