{"id":9174,"date":"2023-02-09T19:04:36","date_gmt":"2023-02-10T00:04:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pixarplanet.com\/blog\/?p=9174"},"modified":"2023-09-10T21:41:49","modified_gmt":"2023-09-11T01:41:49","slug":"toy-story-5-in-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pixarplanet.com\/blog\/toy-story-5-in-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Toy Story 5 In Development"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A sequel in the <em>Toy Story <\/em>series has been confirmed to be in development by Disney chief executive Bob Iger in an earnings call yesterday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bob Iger explained how Disney are &#8220;leaning into unrivalled brands and franchises&#8221; by working on sequels for <em>Toy Story<\/em>, <em>Frozen, <\/em>and <em>Zootopia<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a surprising way to receive news of a new Pixar movie in the works: so far the only upcoming projects that have been named and slated with a release date are <em>Elemental <\/em>(this June), <em>Elio <\/em>(March 2024), and <em>Inside Out 2 <\/em>(June 2024). This <em>Toy Story <\/em>news has come so early, that every bit of information needs to be considered carefully, especially since it&#8217;ll be very early in production still. But it appears to be confirmed! Both by Bob Iger, and by Tim Allen&#8217;s tweet in which he uses an incredibly grainy image of Buzz Lightyear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. It can&#8217;t be said for sure that this means <em>Toy Story 5<\/em>. We can&#8217;t rule out the possibility that it&#8217;s an addition to the franchise in a different way (like a prequel, or a <em>Lightyear <\/em>instalment. Who knows!).
