Some will lurk and finally post. Like, I had someone on another forum that lurked for a bit just to read and finally decided what the heck, I’ll post, which was a good thing because we are a small community. We’re always looking to recruit fans.

And I think there are some people out there who visit our board who aren’t even members. THey just lurk, checking to see what we have to say.

It seems like there are 600 members here but I would only regularly converse with about thirty of them. Quite a difference.
In some ways I’m glad that this forum is small because it makes for a small, tight-knit community. But then other times I hope that more die-hard Pixar fans will join here so there are more people to talk to, and more friends to make (not that I don’t appreciate you guys already). The more the merrier. Hopefully with WALL•E and other Pixar projects, there will be more Pixar fans joining here…
Oh, K9Girl and I used to do that, like, every day! We were cracking up on the More Bloopers! thread in Cars forums, and checked out the rest of the site, and after seeing the Got any good stories? thread, we decided we might as well get to know these people.
I hope “lurk” isn’t a bad thing for you, TSS. 
FONY and The Star Swordsman - Yeah, that’s true. I wouldn’t be surprised if a good percentage of them are lurkers, with the occasional bot or trouble-maker abroad. Thankfully, we don’t have to deal with the latter as much as we used to.
rachel - Exactly. I love conversing with people who actually care about Pixar Animation Studios as a whole, and those individuals who do have that intention and/or dedication are rather few compared to the hundreds of members here. Personally, I prefer small forums/communities as well since it’s less broad and more intimate.

When I first found this forum (I Googled it on the hope that there would be a forum dedicated to Pixar), I signed up straight away - there was no way that I could have just lurked and read the threads without jumping in. But that’s just me…
Mitch - Oh, yeah. If I feel like it, I could discuss Pixar in great detail and depth with fellow Pixar obsessors, I mean “enthusiasts”, for quite a while. It’s always good to have you guys to do it with. I just wish we had a few more members like that, some “fresh meat”. Heh. But I’m fairly content with the number of dedicated members we have now…
You can say that again rachel. You get even more members who come, we might need more mods to control the chaos.

Martini: My prediction is that we will have 800 by the end of July if not earlier because WALL-E will attract a lot of fans for ya.
I bet the population of Pixar Planet will increase by exponential values soon!

Yeah, I have to say that I’ve never seen such a spike in membership sign-up, so to speak. On June 30 (or 30 June, for you Englanders, as I like to say), we had 13 members sign up. I’ve never seen that since I came here, that’s certain.
Wow, 800 in that short amount of time. I think the release of WALL-E had a large part in that.

Personally, and I’ve been pondering this for quite some time, if such a glut of membership continues to occur, I believe that another moderator is necessary. But, of course, that’s only my opinion on the matter.
