A Neighbor's house has burned down today

And Me, my mom. and my sister watched all happen. What a humbling experience. When my mom watched it. Ii brought back memories from when she was 7 when she watched her house burn down.

I even knew the people who lived in the house, They had 3 teen girls. I feel sorry for their family. :frowning:

Oh my goodness, that sounds so horrible. I’ll pray for the family. Poor them.

I have a strange fascination when things burn down, but also an intense amount of fear. I sometimes wonder if in a past life, I had died in a fire.

I’m so sad to hear about that. :frowning: I hope no one was injured or killed.

Everyone was fine. But all their pets died.

nightwheel: Aww, I’m sorry to hear that. :frowning: That’s what I always worried about as a child - that if there was a fire I’d never get out because I’ve always had loads of pets. I would try and save them all.
Somewhere nearby, a boy died because he went back in the house to try and save his pets. :frowning:

I got to say that I feel bad for those who lost their homes, but I got today and yesterday out of school. This gave me plenty of time to watch Wall-E. This is my second 4 day weekend in a row and I’m getting another in 2 weeks. Also, the fire was down the street from me.

Thank goodness my primary home is in a highly residential area that is not in much fire danger. But my vacation home is in real danger of being burned down, and that’s scary. I can’t even imagine people who have lost their primary homes.

I live in Southern California. Although my house isn’t in danger, the fires are very tangible. All day Saturday, the sky wasn’t blue, it was brown. My car was covered in ash when I drove to school on Monday morning. It’s annoying, but I don’t complain, because those are people’s houses all over my car, and my heart really goes out to those people. It’s so sad, but it really brings people together.

Just to put this out there. For those who think this happen in California, It didn’t. This fire happen in Western Kentucky.

:frowning:

Oh no! What kind of pet’s did they have? That sucks man, pet’s are a part of my family, so I can imagine. :frowning:

Fairly Odd New Yorker: Wow, that’s pretty deep, do you feel the same way about camp fires ect.? I do agree that there is something fascinting about fire.

I have to admit, I can get distracted by a fire pretty easily. It’s seemingly random, yet so focused on doing it’s job at the same time.

I’m really sorry to hear about that. I know a house is just a material possession, but the idea of losing your own home is pretty scary, especially when you see it burn down in front of you. At least the family were alright, despite the sad loss of their pets.

OMG that’s terrible! That must’ve been so scary for you to watch too. And so sad about their pets…I know if my pet died, I’d be inconsolable!

Aww, I am so sorry for them! I hope everything gets better, but still- to lose your house to a fire, along with your pets (and they’re not just pets, more like animal friends, guardians, or playmates), it’s really hard to forget. That must be really hard, to have a big, horrible loss like that. :`-(

:`-( omg that’s so sad

Oh man, I’m sorry. When I posted a while back everybody in California was talking about fires, so I automatically assumed it was CA. I hope you all can see it was an honest mistake.

It’s still sad, though, to here about someone’s home burning down.
