Why do you assume that Woody is wooden?
The only time anyone ever referred to him as “wooden” was Bonus Belt Buzz in TS2, when he called him “Zurg’s wooden captive”, but he never saw Woody and I think he probably derived “wooden” from the name “Woody”.
There’s no reason not to assume he’s plastic.
Actually, Woody’s head, hands, hat, and boots are plastic; the rest of him is just cloth and stuffing. I recall this from seeing Toy Story 2 during my matinee screening of the 3-D double feature I attended yesterday!

Lasseter and co have said plenty of times he’s wooden if I recall. that combined with his name and the “wooden captive” all add up to him being wooden.
and while this might not apply, he was definetly wooden when he used to be a marionette in his original design. Dolls used to be made from wood (their heads hands and feet I mean), so I dont think its odd to assume he’s made of wood.
Oh, and The second trailer link is down, but not because of Disney, the user himself removed it for some reason. maybe he was paranoid about being banned? I know thats why Im not uploading it to mine. heh

I always thought Woody was plastic just judging on the way he looks in the films, though if Lasseter himself has said that he is wooden, I’d go with that. 
I’m not surprised that the user took it down. It was only a matter of time, I guess.

Okay, this is where I admit I was wrong. I did think he looked like plastic, and still do, but I could have sworn I heard otherwise. but I asked Lee Unkrich on twitter today and he says he’s plastic.

On topic of seeing the trailer, I did thanks to the wonders of the internet. I’m so pumped for this movie, this and Iron Man 2 will be the highlight movies on next year for me.

Loved the trailer.
Just had to drop by here and say real quick that I think Slinky’s new voice actor will do Jim Varney justice, I would’ve had trouble telling they were different if I hadn’t known better.
I really enjoyed the trailer. Although I didn’t get the chance to see it on the big screen, I did catch it online before it was taken down. And I really liked it. I do agree with others who’ve said that young Andy looks different from the original. But I do like how college-age Andy looks! And seeing all the toys together just was awesome. When Woody said, “We’re busting out of here,” I just squealed. I can’t wait for June. It’ll be a great experience seeing the characters I fell in love with when I was a kid have a new adventure now.
By the way, can anyone figure out the lyrics of the Randy Newman song? I wasn’t paying attention during when I saw it in the theater and in the online version I can only decipher the beginning and end parts; “I’ve been through…” and “I never knew losing you.”
All I could decipher was “most of my dreams” in the middle of the song. The rest is too garbled to make out.

Can someone tell me the line Slinky said in the trailer? Was it “We ain’t ever gettin’ away with this,” or did I hear it wrong?
By the way, Slinky sounds great.
The line is “We ain’t ever getting played with”. And yeah, the new voice actor is a good one, from what we’ve heard. Wondering if Lenny and Wheezy will even appear at all, though. They weren’t exactly major characters.
I think the cast will be reduced significantly. if they do appear it will probably be in the home videos briefly, not not talk. not just because of Joe Ranft’s death, probably has little to do with that actually, but I think they needed to thin out the cast for 2 reasons. 1, Andy’s grown up. who keeps all their toys? he’s lucky to still have the main major characters. toys like Lenny and weezy were probably sold off in yardsales, given away, broken. what does an 18 year old boy want with a squeeze toy and wind up toy that probably costs 2 bucks at most?
he kept the rest for sentimiental reasons Im sure, but any character that only had a few lines will lilkely get the boot.
the second reason I think they’ll want to thin out the cast is it has grown so much since 2 already with the addition of Jessie, Bullseye, Mrs potatohead, Buster, probably more Im not mentioning. Then you have Mr prickle pants and lotso to share screen time this time around.
so Im starting to see why we might not see many of the characters that had smaller roles before.
