Best April Fools Day Jokes

What are the best April Fools Day jokes, that you’ve ever seen either in print, online, or have ever happened to you?

What were some of you favorites this year?

Print?

Online?

In day to day interactions?

Well, I joined this forum on May 31st 2007, and got completely suckered in by the April Fool’s Day post on Upcoming Pixar where bawpcwpn said Upcoming Pixar was being taken over by Disney.

Last year had two fantastic internet pranks:

dA admins made everybody’s avatar a pixel-art Mudkip with the captions “so i herd u liek mudkip?”

YouTube made every featured video on the main page fake and linked you instead to Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up (aka RickRoll’d)

I still have yet to stop rickrolling people. Just can’t help myself.

Haunt: Haha, yea that one on dA really got me…thought I was hacked…:open_mouth:

There was a pretty good April Fool’s Day joke on Mugglenet.com a few years back. I don’t remember all of the details, but I believe it involved the administrators of two separate websites getting married… :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol, I looked at upcoming pixar yesterday and got about halfway through before I realized it was fake  I heard the London newspaper the Guardian said they were going to cease print publication and be exclusively on Twitter, and I saw expedia.com had travel packages to Mars for just $99 (save over $3 billion!) and hotels.com had deals for the Moon. Although honestly I didnt see as much as I have in previous years.

Ah, I remember that one! ‘Memerson’ was their combined name. I don’t remember where I read it, but some fan brought that up not too long again and it made me chuckle.

Puh-ha! Are you serious? That’s hilarious.

Hannahmation - Yeah, that was it! “Memerson”. Heh. Best internet joke I’d seen in a long time…

This year my middle sister and I pulled jokes on my youngest sister, since my youngest sister and I pulled a joke on my middle sister last year.(We took all the stuff out of her room, so it looked liek she had been moved out. We did leave her bed, but just took the sheets off.)

We did something similar to my youngest sister. We just hid her pillows and sheets, because she has like 10 pillows and loves them.

I also replaced all the pens and pencils in my youngest sister’s pencil case with crayons and markers, ala The Office. It was much beeter than the pillow one, I got a good reaction.

My favortie Arril Fool ever was the fake Legend of Zelda movie trailer IGN made last year. I knew it was a joke, but the work they put into the joke was awesome.

In the UK the BBC ran a joke which said that whilst filming a new wildlife documentary Stephen Fry had discovered a new species of cetacean; the Sharkwhale. They had a big fake video as well. Made me giggle.

Well, i was not any good at pulling any pranks. But I remember two disticnt April Fools Jokes that PixarVixen and Dash did years back.

The first one, Dash created a member named “Brad Bird” and had me believing that there was going to be an Incredibles sequel. Boy did I feel stupid after that.

The second prank was that dash and PV switched my avatar and my siggy with some really random ugly pictures.

Ha-ha! Did he really? That’s not a bad idea for a joke, actually… (snigger)

I forgot to mention that my sister played a prank on me, which was weird… as I’m usually the one who fools her. She told me that she saw Dylan Sprouse (“Zack” from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) at her school, which I easily believed in, since Dylan Sprouse actually does go to her school, from what I’ve heard. Either way, I fell for it. :stuck_out_tongue:

This year, my Social Studies teacher, Mr. O, assigned us a 5 paragraph essay on why the Nile River was important to the ancient Egyptians. It was to be 12 font, double spaced, have 6-8 sentences per paragraph, have a works cited page, and a cover with 3 pictures on it. And he said it was due THE VERY NEXT DAY. At the end of class, he told us it was a joke. I took up my whole S.S. section and half of my L.A. section in my agenda pad!! My friend said he started it in class and got 2 paragraphs done before Mr. O. said it was a joke!

The prank that really got me yesterday was that I believed that there was going to be a video game released called “Disney/Pixar Beatdown” where you control the Pixar characters and fight like the Super Smash Bros game.

-I got an email from a random person that said “I’m moving to Brazil,” and why would I care 'cause I don’t even know that person. :unamused: Anyway, it said to scroll down and I scrolled down a long way until it said “APRIL FOOLS!” Didn’t really get me, though, because I didn’t even know that person, but it did give me an idea.

-I sent an email to my friend and told her I took in a stray puppy and it started collecting all my Disney movies first thing when it got in my house, and when I turned on the T.V., it growled at this Jonas Brothers commercial. Then I finished the email with an “APRIL FOOLS!”

-My science teacher reported that 90% of us (meaning the class) failed our test. That was a shocker until I was reminded it was April Fools day.

-One of my classmates said that she was going to tell her parents right after school that she got suspended for cussing at a teacher. That would have been a really great joke, but she didn’t get hte chance to do it.

-When I got back from this dinner theater in my school, I planned to tell my mom that someone really did die in there. However, I forgot and I was smiling too much for anyone to believe me anyway.

-Here’s one that I forgot to try: set a relative’s alarm early and change his/her calendar.

Well, we did two on our site. First we had said that an unfinished version of TS3 was going to be opening the Toronto International Film Festival this year, and second of all we reported on a film which we called ‘Poisson d’Avril’ that was going to be a collaboration between DreamWorks, Blue Sky, and Pixar.

That was pretty much it on our end this year… Since I tend to like to write this kind of thing, I am not very apt to believe much I read online on April Fool’s Day!

EVE,
One Movie, Five Views.

Yeah and I believe hotels.com had travel packages for the moon as well

One year, my mom did this to me. She made me believe that I was going to be late for school, and so I ran out the house and down the street to school. My classroom door was locked, so I sat outside the classroom and waited. 45 minutes later, my mom found me sitting all cold and lonely outside the classroom and wished me a happy April Fools. I’m all for April Fools jokes, but that one was just mean.

Another one my mom did to me was give me a box of Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies to share with my friends at school. I was so excited! Turns out she had opened the box from the bottom, taken out the cookies and put in two cucumbers, and then glued it shut. That one was really funny when I found out.

Most of my pranks involve food. Like asking someone to make scrambled eggs for me and giving them a hardboiled egg. Or freezing a spoon in water in a cereal bowl and covering the ice with a little bit of cereal and milk.
