Board Games

Oh I have. it looks really, really creative. i have seen it in a box in a toy store, but that is about it.

“You built a bird that will save Flik and his colony! Fly up two spaces.”

Alright, I’d better stop.

What do you all think of the game Stratego?

Heard, but never played. What’s it about?

Well, it is like chess. Each player moves once per turn their oramy of soldiers in order to capture their opponent’s flag. here is the tricky part. There are stronger soldiers than others, traps and boosts, and other tings that can turn the tide of the game. Play it right with the right strategy, and you could pull a victory out.

My favorite board game is Othello. It’s easy to learn, but difficult to master.

My favorite board game would have to be Trivial Pursuit, mostly because I’m a trivia buff (I watch Jeopardy! everyday for cyring out loud  ). I’m not sure if they have a Pixar edition (I know that they have a Disney edition), but I really, really want to get my hands on that Star Wars DVD edition.

Monopoly comes in second, and I must say I enjoy making all these crazy deals with the people I play with. My best Monopoly game would have to be that time when I came from behind and won the game after almost being the first to go bankrupt. I am aware that come-from-behind wins happen rather frequently in Monopoly (seeing that it’s a game of chance), but it feels quite nice when you yourself are the one coming from behind.

Finally, Scrabble comes in at the number three spot. Had it not been for Scrabble, I never would have learned that such words as QANATS (a water management system) or CWM (a cirque) existed. Unfortunately, I have no idea what most of these words mean, which kind of takes the whole learning experience out of it. (Trust me: memorizing a bunch of two-letter words that you would never use isn’t much of a learning experience - which kind of makes me ask myself why I memorized those words in the first place…).

The Star Swordsman - Oh yes, I think I know what your talking about now. Doesn’t it have a rank called “spy”?

One more –

“-GASP- DARLA!!! Swim away three spaces! QUICK! LIKE SERIOUSLY!!!”

:smiling_imp:

Draughts can be pretty fun. It’s simple, but addictive.

I don’t think so. Not with the version I have.

TSS - Hmm. Well, the name sounds cool, anyway!

High-five on the Jeopardy! thing. Oh, and the Star Wars trivia edition is wicked fun. You have to get it, dude.

Thanks for mentioning Scrabble, by the way. I completely forgot about that one…

Another board game I used to enjoy playing was Scattergories. It’s addicting like you wouldn’t believe. My mom and I used to play it twenty-four/seven…before I gave the thing away… :unamused:

Candy - Haha!

– Mitch

Oh yeah, I love Scrabble too.

Mitch - ZOMG, SCATTEGORIES?!! I LOVED THAT GAME!! :astonished: (We used to play it at school, as well as Dingbats)

My fav. board game would be Monopoly. My strategy is to buy the two maroon coloured blocks (the cheapest ones), and build houses then hotels on them. I’ve never seen the Pixar edition - probably because they don’t sell it here. I would love to get the Ratatouille edition, but I wouldn’t want to open it. ;-p

I would get two: one for general use and the other for the collector’s shelf. That’s what I always do…

I would do that too, but I am poor. ;-p

rachel - Ha! Yes, money…the only thing that can stop practically anything… :unamused:

Rachel: That is a great strategy, but what one should try to do is put a hotel on all of the orange one. Statisticly, it is better on there.

Get out! I hardly ever see anybody play the thing, so it’s nice to know that I’m not the only one. (snigger) :stuck_out_tongue:
