Books

Im writing a BOOK! YAY but its sorta horrible…

I am writing a book too.

Oh my gosh! Whats it about?!

It is about a dog.
Here is how much I have done:
The Dog

Written by Teodora.

One day there was a dog it was lonely and it had no owner. The dog had black skin and it had white spots. It was slim and tall. Then one day while the dog was sitting and looking at the cars passing by there was a teenage girl with her small brother and she saw the dog and said “hurry” to her small brother. What do you think happened? Of course she went and picked up the dog and carried it home. When they were half way there she said “this dog is so tall I can hardly carry him”. Her name was Katie and her smaller brother was called Charlie. “Ok this is what we have to do carry him home and ask and beg our parents to let us keep him”. “Ok said Charlie. They brought the dog home and Katie yelled out to here mum this “mum we found a dog can we please keep him please!” “Well I have to think about it ok” “ok”! Screamed Katie. “I hope we can keep the dog” she said to Charlie, he said “me too”. Then after a while their mother said “ok we can keep the dog but what will be the dogs… first we have to see if it’s a boy or a girl” “ok” Katie said. “Yay it’s a boy” said Charlie. “I think his name should be Spotty he is like an opposite Dalmatian with white spots and black body” said Katie. When their mother said they can keep the dog they instantly went to the shop and bought a bed and a food bowl and water bowl they put a blanket over him and put his collar on him. “Goodnight” said Katie and Charlie. “Woof! Woof!” said Spotty. After an exciting day they finally went to sleep. The time they woke up was 10a.m and they thought it was 8a.m. They instantly went to the dog and were petting him and hugging him and they saw the food bowl empty “and it was a full bowl and he grew fat as well” said Katie. Then they went outside and were throwing a ball for him and he ran like a bullet. Next they went and picked the droppings. After a while they walked inside with Spotty and then they went and lay down on the sofa also Spotty jumped on the sofa but he was not allowed on the sofa and he quickly went off. “Good boy” said Katie. Finally their mother woke up and saw the dog lying beside them. “What are you doing” said mum. But they were fast asleep. Then their mother went to her room and got a blanket for everyone even Spotty. After a while they woke up. And saw that breakfast was on the counter and even the dogs bowl was filled with food. “Mum is so good she even filled the dog bowl” said Katie. “Where is mummy” said Charlie. “I don’t know” said Katie. “Mum where are you?” said Katie. “I’m here darlings” said mum “what are you doing?” said Katie. “I am making Spotty a blanket I did not like dogs but he changed my mind” said mum “really” said Katie. “Yes” said mum. They started watching her make the blanket and then Spotty came in and started watching too. After 5 or 10 minutes the blanket was done. “What a lovely blanket” said Katie. “I think so to” said Charlie. They put it on Spotty and he looked lovely. So every night they would put it on him and he would be nice and warm. It was 8 o’clock and all of them were still sleeping. Finally they all woke up in the same time. They had breakfast even Spotty had breakfast. “Let’s play!” shouted Katie. Spotty ran out instantly. They were playing fetch and playing with the ball and just having fun. Then they got tired and walked slowly back to the sofa even Spotty layed on the ground. They slept for two hours. Finally they woke up. “What should we do now” said Katie. “We should play fetch” said Charlie. “Yeah you’re right” said Katie. Then they ran outside and ran and ran with Spotty. They were exhausted. Panting and panting the dog was. And pumping hearts of two children. They had a glass of water and Spotty drank his whole bowl of water. They had a rest and then Katie read a book to Charlie and Spotty. After that they slouched to the bed, got in bed and they all fell asleep. When they woke up they found Spotty licking their faces when they woke up. Then Katie walked to see what time it was. It was 7:00 O’clock in the morning she thought well I should just sleep more than just doing nothing she thought. So she slouched back to her bed and fell asleep. Then she woke up in an hour and Charlie was already up and Spotty was waiting by his food bowl. “Okay you want food Charlie and you want food Spotty too” said Katie “coming up”. When she made it she had breakfast herself. It was the weekend so they didn’t have to go to school it was Saturday it felt great “What should we do today?” said Katie. “We shod play with Spotty” said Charlie. “Alright” said Katie. So they ran outside with Spotty and found a ball and started throwing the ball for Spotty. After they finished they walked inside and threw themselves on the couch. “It’s so good playing with Spotty I am so happy that we found him” said Katie. Then when they had a rest it was time for tea. There were cupcakes, cake, tea and lots more. “That was yum mum” said Katie “I think so too” yelled Charlie. “Well that’s nice of you to say that.” said their mum. After that they went to watch a movie it was called “Liar Liar” It was family night. And they couldn’t wait to watch the movie with Spotty. It was time to watch the movie they had coke and popcorn. It was exciting to watch the movie. When it finished they were all half asleep and tired they all hardly went to bed. When they woke up Katie just realized that it was Monday. Katie hated Mondays, especially this one because she couldn’t go anywhere without Spotty. When Katie went to school there was her best friend Alice waiting for her. “Hi Alice” said Katie “what did you want me here for?” asked Katie. “I wanted to tell you something” “I got a dog yesterday” she said excitedly. “I was thinking that my dog which is Kate can have play dates with Spotty” “Ok” said Katie. “Well maybe Wednesday?” “Ok” said Katie.” See you tomorrow” Katie said. So off went Katie walking to pick her brother up from school. Then they walked home together. They couldn’t wait to see Spotty. Also they couldn’t wait for school holidays, they would be with Spotty for six weeks, and they couldn’t wait. The next day Alice wasn’t at school, so Katie called her and asked if she is alright? “I am just sick” Alice said. “I think I will be at school tomorrow”. “Bye then” Then Katie rushed to school.

holy ! I didn’t expect you to post it! hahaha I’ll need to read it later but that’s amazing I read a lot of it!

I haven’t finished it yet though.

I have finished the Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness, it’s technically a YA novel, though it does but emphasis on the ‘adult’ in some ways, while for the first bit of the first book I had trouble getting into it due to its style (first person among other things), I plowed on ahead and was eventually captured by it.

It has Sci Fi elements but that’s not the main theme of the book really. It involves a boy called Todd who is human but was born from colonists on a new planet. There are also native sentient species called the “Spackle”. There are only men in Todd’s town and he is the youngest male with all the women having apparently died just after Todd was born. And also on this world men can hear each others thoughts all the time, and there’s no release.T odd has also been raised to believe this was because they couldn’t ‘handle’ the ‘Noise’ as a result of the thoughts being heard However when Todd discovers an uncomfortable truth he has to run, and eventually he meets,[spoil]Viola, a girl, the first girl he’s ever seen,[/spoil] and he’s realised there were other lies too and for their own survival they have to run.

I definitely recommend this book series. It’s pretty suspensful, especially the last book, and I had to know what happened in the end (so I was glad I got all three books at once to read!).

I’d have to say I think I liked it more than the Hunger Games in the end, and I quite liked the Hunger Games itself.

For my American History class, we’re reading Bread Givers. I really enjoy it. It’s about a family of Jewish immigrants in New York in the 1920s. The father is an extremley traditional and strict Orthodox Rabbi, who makes life hell for his four daughters and wife. He drives away all his daughteres true loves, and forcing them to marry men they don’t love. The youngest girl decides that she is an American, and wants to marry an American.

I highly reccomend it to people interested in immigrants, Jewish culture, and woman rights and history.

Were going to be reading a book in my reading class. I forgot the name. I will tell you guys when we start it.

I had a somewhat similar problem with The Hunger Games’ characters, SoA. Although I probably liked them more than you do, I found Katniss’s selfish attitude and frequent whining a bit more grating than I probably should’ve. I do like that she was a very focused, strong-willed character, but she bothered me more than a protagonist should. And I didn’t like Peeta at all up till the end. I found Gale pretty likable, though. But I wasn’t so interested in the romantic subplot at all (probably stemming from my general distaste for the genre as a whole 8D ), it felt kinda teenybopper-aimed.

Well, your opinion doesn’t differ a lot from mine

I haven’t read a book in a while.

The Hunger Games trilogy:

The Hunger Games: A+
Catching Fire: A
Mockingjay: B+

The Hunger Games is probably the best opening book in a series I’ve read since HP1. It’s amazing. Catching Fire is great. Some points it’s better than the first one. Mockingjay is great all through until the ending. I hope Suzanne Collins writes a short follow-up to Mockingjay. It just didn’t feel fulfilling enough. Now back to Steve Jobs! About halfway done with it. A- so far!

What were reading in class is The Richest Man in Town. So far it’s about a guy who meets an old man in Wal-Mart. But unlike most of the workers their, the old man actally likes to talk to the customers.

I just finished reading that book I told about earlier, Bread Givers. The book is in three parts, and I read the last 2/3rds last night in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down!

Sometimes when I read books I have to do something but I don’t want to stop reading^^.

Yes, I love how books can do that.

Did anyone read Romeo and Juliet in high school?

No, before that.

I am going to be Home schooled on High school and Intermediate. So I don’t think we are going to read it.
