rachel: Bird left the possibility of a sequel for TI after the movie. In fact, at the end, he left the audience wanting more.
So as much as a Cars short sounds good, I think it stands trong where it is.

Well,in my opinion the Incredbiles wasn’t all that.I don’t care how much the movie made or other stuff as long as its a movie that I like.
Well, yeah, people’s interpretations of movies are subjective. But when you have film critics saying that The Incredibles is a better movie, and more layered than other Pixar films, it would suggest that it is more deserving of a sequel than some other Pixar films, such as Cars.
I can see how all the Cars fans would want a sequel since they loved the first film, but you have to step aside and think “Will this be the best decision for Pixar? Does Cars really need/deserve a sequel? Can the characters be expanded upon, or did the first film pretty much cover it?” Maybe then you will come to a different conclusion…
I don’t know why, but that made me laugh.
I wouldnt mind another Cars short (although it would be different to have 2 shorts for the same movie). I’ve probably said something to this affect before, but I’ll reiterate. I certainly wouldnt complain about having a Cars 2, but only if the story was as good as or better than the original. I’d hate to see a sequel that was mediocre which would end up putting a damper on the original for me. If that were the case I’d want to see Cars just as it was, you know, without thinking “and then they made that sequel which really wasnt that good” Not that I’d think they’d do that! I trust Pixar to know when they have a good story. I dont think they’d even bother with a Cars 2 unless they came up with a really good story to do. (Plus, since Paul Newman has “retired”, would Doc Hudson even be there? Since he was my favorite character and all, I’d certainly want him to be.)
I don’t! The Incredibles didn’t do anything for me! But then again super heroes have never had any appeal to me.
Personally I would love both a Cars 2 and a new Cars short film. But of course I want the story to be a good one, I don’t want a sequel for the sequel’s sake; it must be unique. Sequels shouldn’t just milk the original film for all the parts that were great, it should be original . And if anyone can make a great and original sequel it’s Pixar .
Thank you ,and didnt yall say something about not repeating if they make an Incredbiles 2 thats repeating.
You’re welcome LightingandSally . We supporters of a Cars 2 just have to stick together .
Not if there is a good storyline, and the characters can grow and the story can evolve to a higher level, which The Incredibles is very capable of doing given the depth of the first movie. Cars was a good movie and all, but I just don’t think it has the same potential for a great sequel, like The Incredibles does.
I’ll rather see a short film for Finding Nemo than another Cars short film.
Merry Christmas, eveyone! That was random, wasn’t it? XD

I have to agree with L&S and The Loner here. The Incredibles were okay, but it took me a couple passes of watching it in order to get all of the story. I love all the Pixar movies, but I just felt like it lacked something in my book. My faorite Pixar movies are Cars and Nemo, so I can never get enough of those characters. Therefore, I dig sequels - AS LONG AS THE STORY AND QUALITY IS GOOD.
I would LOVE another Cars short and a Cars 2. I think Cars has potential for a sequel - I remember at the end of the movie wanting to know how Lightning’s life went after it. Sure, he probably got hitched with Sally, but I wanna see that! It just seems like there are lots of little areas to keep following, and that’s why I loved Mater & the Ghostlight - it was so cool to see Lightning as a new person in his new home with his new “family” living a new life that you only got a hint of at the end of the movie!
And I agree with The Loner - I guess the sequels will come when they’re meant to. I remember reading in an interview article with Andrew Stanton where Andrew said a Nemo 2 would probably come along once an idea for the story did. I’m all for that; I just have to be patient until then and pray like crazy that a good idea comes.
And that’s my little rant. So, yeah, I’m hoping to see another Cars short before too long.
It’d be cool if the sequel had Mater-nationals characters.
I like the Mater & Emma love interest.
So I guess by now they did with the Blue Light and Mater. LOL, I was starting to get alittle scared when I was watching it alone at night, but then I was laughing at the end when it was that lamp on his chain.
