I looked for the poster in August when I saw Cars 2 again for my birthday. Didn’t find one, though.
It feels like this poster for Brave is pretty rare to find right now. Sometimes you have to keep your eyes peeled and you might find it. Went by the cinema the other day and it wasn’t outside but I did see the poster for John Carter. My cinema usually puts the new posters they get inside before putting them outside.
Yeah, I’m not too worried about it ecause I know that they’ll put some up in the future.
Yeah, they’ll eventually show it. Who knows, it could be there sometime soon. Just curious, when do you guys think the next trailer will come?
I don’t think it’ll come until the new year, but I can see Disney really going out of it’s way to advertise this so I hope it’s sooner.
I can see them probably delaying the next trailer until early next year. I kind of thought either on the Cars 2 DVD or before The Muppets since it was around the time the past couple years Pixar released trailers for Cars 2 and TS3.
Sorry about the double post but Lasseter implied that the Pizza Planet Truck will be in Brave. He said, “it’s there but they’re not saying where.”
I’ll stick to my first theory.
It will be there, unaltered in appearance, but so small and unnoticeable that no casual viewer will notice the anachronism.
I think he conformed that a while ago.
I’m guessing it’ll be hidden as a picture in something like embroidery or a stained glass window.
I’m going to stick with my theroy of it being a knick-knack on a shelf or something.
I love all these theories, I can’t wait to discover what they’ll do!
Yeah, it’ll probably be tough to find the Pizza Planet Truck in this film since it’s in ancient Scottland.
I’m still going with it being a Wagon.
Why avoid the truck if a pizza wagon would also be anachronistic?
^Yeah, I agree. Although it would be sorta cool. Any of you have Pizza Shuttles where you live? Cause their menu icon is a wagon that says “Pizza Shuttle” being pulled by alien-looking horses out in space. Figure if they do use a wagon, it might look like that.
I could see a Pizza Wagon if the film was a medieval parody like Shrek, but Brave doesn’t strike my like that kind of production.
Exactly. It’s probably why I think my theory of it being a knick-knack would work better. It should be some fun trying to find it in the film.
Howdy!
The First Brave Review has been published… and been removen already!
However, its unfortunately according to those who read it before it was taken down, not very positive. Although the article specifies PIXAR change their reviews a lot, the leaked reviews for ‘Toy Story 3’ and ‘Cars 2’ were fairly similar to the actual movie.
I managed to find an image of the beginning of the review and type it up:
Mild spoilers
"Hey folks, Harry here… TheGoonie has had a very rare and amazing experience recently… He’s seen PIXAR’s BRAVE. Now, when I say this is an early screening, I’m not kidding… BRAVE won’t be hitting theatres until JUNE 22nd– unless Pixar decides to make a go of the film at Cannes next year. Less than 20% of the film has finished animation, TheGoonie does a very good job of letting us know up front the condition of the print. You should also know that PIXAR is the best studio in the world for using the Test Screening process to decode the problems with their early print of films. They nip and tuck and rework last acts and twist and tern– and then the final product seems effortlessly genius. This review is part of that process. There are very few spoilers in the below. You get a loose sense of thing, but TheGoonie gave a lit of thought to the problems that currently exist in this particular version of the film. Everything seems easily work-out-able. This is a very different film for PIXAR– and I hope they redefine the “animated PRINCESS” film– and I have to say– I like the idea of the Mom (?) being a heroic figure. We don’t have a lot of those in Disney’s animated history.
First and foremost I need to say that this was a very early test screening. Only about 15-20% of the animation was finished. About 40% was just storyboards. The rest were animatics, unfinished animation, and finished animation without lighting. The release date is a ways off, and I’m sure they’re planning to make many changes, regardless of what sort of scores they get back from these screenings. But I thought people might be interested to know what the film is like in its current state.
Brave is Pixar’s fist journey into the fairy tale format that makes up most of Disney’s library. However, this is where the problems begin. We’re quickly introduced to Merida, a young rebellious princess who lives for those moments when she doesn’t have to learn proper princess etiquette from her mother, and instead roam the Scottish countryside and practise her archery. This trope of the rebellious princess, done so many times before, feels stale here. It hits every beat it needs to and never in a new or refreshing way, It just felt like scenes from The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Aladdin or The Princess Diaries…"
And thats all that is currently on the internet! If anyone saved or can find a copy, it would interesting to read the rest, but so far its not positive vibes, although there is an implication that it is fixable problems and not an intrinsically bad movie.
Any thoughts?
I don’t know. I’m not really going to judge this film until I see it.
