I’m just making that up according to my feelings.
That’s probably not so.

Does the family not want her to do archy becuase she’s a Pricess.
“more than meets the eye”… is that an intentional pun, because the bear is apparently blind in one eye?
What intrigues me is that The Bear and the Bow alludes to only one bear, but we know there are many in the film.
Good point. I think they might of been refering to Mordu as the bear.
Ha! Actually, I didn’t know that, so it wasn’t intentional.
Yeah… as I believe Ballboi was saying, I think it means the Bear.
^^ I’m just assuming that Mordu’s blind in one eye, because Merida’s father says “his face scarred with one dead eye” in the beginning of the trailer. And there’s a piece of concept art floating around somewhere that shows Mordu with a scar and a kind of white eye.
Plus, their more then one lion in The Lion King, and it’s not called The Lion’s King
I think that’s different. Cause there’s only one king. At least just one at the same time.
Looks that way, although the mother said that it’s not “ladylike”, so it may be more to do with the fact that she’s female than because she’s royalty.
I’m guessing maybe because woman were seen as objects back then and not people.
I guess it’s because traditionally they’d want to marry her off being the first daughter.
Who would Merida marry? It’s not like she has much of a selection with the sons of other leaders. And I can’t imagine they’d want her to marry a commoner.
She’s supposed to marry one of the three lord’s sons.
Hopefully, she won’t ever marry.
Why don’t you gusy wan’t her to marry?
First of all, I think I cried looking at the trailer,(just kidding), I absolutely loved it
I think Brave’s main villian will be Merida’s “wrong” decision, just guessing
Did anybody notice any easter egg on the trailer?
wonder know if Lord Macintosh has anything to do with Steve Jobs (sorry if some of these points have been discussed, but read more than 65 pages would take me a day, hehe )
PS: The music used for the trailer is pretty epic, does anybody know who scored it (I doubt it was Patrick Doyle)
PS 2: Merida should stay SINGLE, that would be the solely reason to separate her from the Disney Princesses
Wait, so she can’t do her archery AND she has to marry one of those pushovers? I’d be out of that castle, too.
I don’t care if she gets married in the future in canon. I just hope it doesn’t happen in the film. It would sort of counteract Merida’s goal to go against what her family wants for her. Plus, it’s a very stereotypical fairytale thing. Not that you can’t have strong married women characters- hello, Mrs. Incredible- but it seems like it would be unnecessary to show this in the film. I loved what Disney did with the ending in Tangled- [spoil]it’s obvious that they’re together, but no wedding.[/spoil] If anything happens romantically, I’d like to see Brave end on a similar note. But really, I think Merida’s independence would be better proven without a guy in the picture at all.
I have a complex theory on the movie which I hope is false.
I wouldn’t really want her to marry either.
