Central Cars 2 Discussion

It’d be a plus for me if it was, but I also think it’d be cool for it to be all characters.

Hey there! Welcome to Pixar Planet!

Yeah, they seems to be the only studio with sequels better than the first, in my opinion. However, I heard Kung Fu Panda 2 was worth seeing! I’m very excited to see it soon! I loved the first.

I don’t think I’ll ever be more excited for any movie other than Cars 2 though. :stuck_out_tongue: Well, maybe Cars 3.

Oh my gosh, don’t tempt me that much Jess! I feel the exact same!

Yeah I think it’s be great if they make Cars like Toy Story 3. I have a feeling that’s what’s going to happen.

To be honest, there is a small little feeling in the back of my mind that I think that’s going to happen too. Cars is the only other Pixar film besides Toy Story to get a sequel and look what happened with Toy Story. I really do hope that happens to Cars as well, that would make my life. One could argue with that though, seeing that they are also making a second Monster’s Inc movie though.

Yes, but the second Monsters is a prequel not a sequel.

I know, that’s why I just said “second”. Unless you meant that as a sign that Cars is going to turn into something like Toy Story while Monster’s Inc. won’t? :sunglasses:

It’s a possibility, but yes that’s what I meant. :stuck_out_tongue:

OK, so I’m not crazy for having that idea?

Like Toy Story 3 in what sense?

I’m sorry, I meant Cars like Toy Story. Like, having three movies.

Not to me.

Well, I don’t think they’re already planning a third one.

But if they come with a good idea some day, then it’ll possibly happen.

Yeah because they only make another movie based on a previously made movie if the story is good enough.

New Interview With John Lasseter:

Apparently, the reason why the water looks so good is because it’s a new technology!
I’ve said in the past that Cars 2 probably has the most work put into it than any other Pixar film. Turns out, John Lasseter confirmed this. I was right! Weeee!

that will happen for sure, maybe in 6 or 7 years from now, but Cars 3 will be greenlighted, I can feel it

It’s just a feeling it’ll happen. A very strong one.

I think cars 2 is a good idea because it is the exact opposite of the original film. A third would ruin that dynamic. Trilogies are over rated, I’d much prefer they stuck to 2 films.

a cars 3? in my opinion, noooooo…its time for pixar to move on with other stuff and take a break from making sequels for a while, although i don’t really see any more sequels for any other pixar movies happening, except maybe the incredibles. but triology? nahhhh. not really pixars thing. except toy story 3, because a triology fit so perfect with andy getting older and the toys fate. but for cars?! unless a really, really, really, really GOOOOD story idea comes up which is likley since pixar is busy with so many more new and original movie ideas. and LOOOOLLL, Cars 2 hasnt even came out yet and we’re already talking about a cars 3?! hahahaha

Meh. Assuming that Pixar will make a third Cars film just because Toy Story had a sequel and then eventually a third movie is a hasty generalization fallacy.

…which is why it’s a feeling?

I always felt that Ratatouille was the longest, so thanks for enlightening me, bryan!

I’m seeing posters, standees, leaflets, and other collateral at my local cinema. There’s also a modified ident of Event Cinemas for Sydneysiders to look out for before your movies (I saw it during Pirates 4), where Lightning, Guido and Mater make appearances and do funny stuff with the logo.

TV spots should be airing anytime now… on another note, I made an interesting discovery after reading the opening scene in a movie storybook last weekend, which might just rekindle my hope for Cars 2 being a serious spy movie. I’ll share more about it later.
