Well whoever does the music, I hope they make the music sound robotic; reminiscent of Short
Circuit. I can’t wait to hear the music they use in the Wall.E trailer!

RC1985 - Right. Especially
because it’s Dialogue-Free, the music is going to be really interesting!
I hope they get someone
new…someone revoloutinary!
Judging by “past experiences”, I’d say
that it will be Thomas Newman – he did a fantastic job on the score for Finding
Nemo, that’s for sure.
Sky and Gasduude - Oh
yes, I agree. And because it will be mostly dialogue-free…the score will have to convey many emotions to create
a clear picture of what is going on. It will be interesting to see how they accomplish this task…
Judging by Pixar’s ability to convey story through their short films’ scores,
I have no doubt whatsoever that Pixar will succeed with the semi-silent feature film, Wall.E.
How about Alan Silvestri scoring a Pixar film?
He’s done a lot of great movies, but his longest lasting
collaboration has to be with Robert Zemeckis. Silvestri has scored the following Zemeckis films to name a few:
Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, The Polar Express. Although I don’t know if he scored the Back to the
Future trilogy.
Bill - Now
that would be cool! Who Framed Roger Rabbit immediately
popped into my mind when I heard part of the score for Ratatouille in that Japanese
trailer for the film.
Hmm,
I am not sure about this guy. What is your opinion about him? And why did you suggest him in the first place? I
am intrested.
I’ve heard that the music used in the Japanese trailer was actually from Roger
Rabbit.
rachel - Seriously? Well, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Either that, or Mr. Giacchino is a really good immitator. (heh)
I did not suggest him, Bill did
.
I’ve looked at what films he has scored, and there all very good scored films. Here are just some of
the film he has scored:
Night at the Museum
The Wild
The Polar Express
Stuart Little 2
Lilo
& Stitch
Cast Away
Stuart Little
The Parent Trap
Forrest Gump
Back to the Future Part
III
Back to the Future Part II
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Do you guys have any other ideas for composers?
I spose i’m biased in thinking of Paul McCartney. Just
mainly because I’d love to see what he could do with that. A lot of his intrumental and classical stuff is
really good. I’m not sure if he’d go for that though because Paul likes traditional animation. He’s not into
computer animation at all…
I honestly don’t think that Paul McCartney will EVER score a Pixar film. He’s a member of The Beatles, and he
is way too old. A song maybe, but not a score. But that’s just my opinion
Yeah – I doubt it…
I still think Danny Elfman should score a Pixar film. He would be
so good at it!!!

He will. When Pixar and Tim Burton collaborate.
Rachelcakes1985 - IF they collaborate. Heh, maybe he could score a few others and become part of the
Pixar family.
Bill – Yeah, your pretty into Burton aren’t you? Well, don’t worry, my guess is that
they’ll someday collaberate – they’d be a great team!
