Today was a triumph for the power of collectors working together!
So, I went to Target again and, once again, Guido and Luigi were only available with Uncle Topolino. Which much love to Italian cars, which are awesome, I’m really trying to keep my collection down to my most favorite characters, so seeing my much wanted G&L bundled up frustrated me.
But this time, I ran into this dad, whose kid wants to collect EVERYBODY. But there was a problem: He’d bought Guido and Luigi as a set already and just wanted Topolino!
“…”
“…”
“Hey! Why don’t we split the cost?”
G&L are now on my bookshelf.
I’m pleasantly surprised with how heavy their figures are. They have a nice weight to them; I was worried that their size would make them those figurines you could blow over by talking.
Yes, they’re nice! I really love them both. Finn was one of my favorite characters and the submarine one is fun and detailed. I also love Axlerod. He was really well done.
Netbug009: HA! Good luck with that. I wanted “only my favorites” too… And I’ve ended up with over 200 cars. The diecasts are so detailed, you’ll realize they’re ALL your favorites xD
Haha I can see how that’d happen. I’ve had to hold myself back a few times. If I had that many cars they’d end up in a box due to lack of display room. XD
“I’m just here to look for Holley- oooh look at the detail on Grem’s rust…”
My collection has grown quite a bit: I did a blog post of my collection shelf! Check out the diecast Cars towards the end of the entry: adventuresinhypergraphia.blogspo … shelf.html
I was at the supermarket and geeked out like a little girl because they had a bunch of those older cars that have the shifting eyes. I picked up Boost, Ramone, and Lightning’s original paintjob.
My Cars collection is much to big to post on here. It’s rather sad, but maybe I’ll post pictures later. I have a little bro so I have an excuse to play with them from time to time
I really want them to complete the Radiator Springs playsets! With like Fillmore/Sarge’s places, Doc’s hospital, city hall and the Cozy Cones! oh, and Mater’s shack :3
I don’t have Professor Z, either. Or any of the above mentioned play sets. At my local grocery store, they have a whole rack of Cars, and they’re all Finn.
Yeah, Finn and Mater. Finn and Mater are everywhere. I think they overestimated Finn’s popularity a little; At my Target, they have those talking plush toys. The Lightning and Mater ones are all gone and there are a bunch of unloved Finn plush that nobody is getting.
Apparently there aren’t many fangirls in my vicinity.
On the bright side, I think Holley’s popularity was underestimated. She’s quickly gotten hard to find in her standard-mode and I’ve heard a few stories of little boys who wanted/love their Holley diecast. Does my heart good to see them admire a strong female character.
I don’t know if anyone mentioned this yet but I was wondering why Rip Clutchgoneski (That is a tongue twister. ) doesn’t have a diecast. He’s the only one of the WGP racers that doesn’t. Speaking of, he seems like the most unpopular racer in general but I heard something about how he was a last minute design into the movie; anyone really know about this?
