Virginia: She’s fine now, but who knows when it happened. I was five, She’s got Alzheimer’s now, so she doesn’t really remember me
For me personally, it’s really hard to narrow down a specific time when PIXAR films didn’t play a strong personal connection to my life. I mean, I grew up with Toy Story when I was 5, raised milkworms in 2cd grade entomology when A Bug’s Life came out, got a group of my 3rd grade friends to see Toy Story 2, learned about marketing and capitalism in 5th as a result of watching Monsters Inc., in 7th Grade went on a whale watching trip and was hoping to see Marlin and Dory, went out with friends to see the Incredibles in 8th, got my driving license when Cars came out, watched Ratatouille while my Mom was visiting France, built nearly every single robot because of WALL-E, graduated when Up came out ,and then came back home over the summer and had a small friendly reunion where we all saw Toy Story 3.
It almost seems to me like PIXAR films have always been there for me as I’ve grown up. Can’t wait to see how Cars 2 relates to my life!
Evangeline, I’m sorry to hear about your grandmom’s alzheimers. It’s a difficult thing to deal with, I know. My grandpa had it, and it was hard for us to watch him forget everything.
Pixar Builder, I think that’s so cool how events in your life coincided with Pixar movies. Coincidence? I think not
Thanks, Ellie. It’s harder for my mom than me, cause it’s her mom. And I was never really too too close with her. It kills me to see my mom so sad sometimes, but my grandma is actually getting better.
I’m so sorry about your grandpop. I wish this disease would just leave.
Too many to count. Don’t worry, I’ll be back one day with a proper list.
