I can’t believe I’m reviving this thread from the dead, but I felt that I owed everyone an
explaination…
First of all, I did not get any pictures of the event. For
one thing, my stinkin’ camera phone wasn’t behaving itself. For another thing, there were
so many people at the event that taking a clear picture of pretty much anything
would have been practically fool-hardy. It really sucks, too, as I wanted to attain some photographs so
badly…
Secondly, we (my dad, sister, and I) all had an absolute blast at
the event. It was truely something beyond all “fantasticality” – an experience like none other, and
one that will last a lifetime.
I almost can’t describe how brilliantly elaborate the Disney Store – which,
in itself, was packed to the brim with patrons – was set up (the store, moreover, was conveniently parked right
next to the El Capitan Theater itself). A little cafe’ was adorned with
Ratatouille-themed stand-ups, Parisian entres/delicacies, and various other
trinkets. Merchandise upon merchandise advertising the film was carefully positioned in honor of the occassion.
There were Ratatouille products that I had never seen before in my life, and some
that I had witnessed only in picture format: Mugs, plates, napkins, posters, pins, books, pens, chef’s aprons,
board games, toys… The list went on and on…
And the show itself? Ah, I can barely describe its
innocense; its magnificence; its satisfactory aroma… To see the production itself on an immensely large screen
was something in itself, but nothing could have made me smile more than hugging my sister…and having her hug me
equally back. Not that she doesn’t do that every time, but this was different. She even finally
“understood” what I meant when I told her (previously) that the film had
changed my life…
Call me crazy, but I was close to tears. This films means more to me than anything I
could have imagined…
Ah, it was a night to remember. How I wish I could relive it… Oh, how I wish I
could relive that wonderous, star-speckled midnight…
