I’m going to put the vid up for another few days. Next time I take it down I’ll probably put it on some site if I get enough requests for it. youtube.com/profile?user=coolio2654
it may not be up yet, so you have to click on it from my channel page to see it when it comes up
coolio2654 - Oh. Heheh. You didn’t have to do that. I probably should have mentioned beforehand that I really don’t support pirated videos, so I’m glad that you originally removed the file. That said, I did take a look at the video, and it sounds like EVE’s saying, “Baaaah”, as everyone else mentioned. It would have been kinda funny if she had muttered a swear word, though. (snigger)
I do not believe Eve could say a bad word. Despite her temper (which btw can be understood - everyone gets annoyed when he can’t do his task), she is a positive character. The real matter is not that it would be censored if it was said - she just COULDN’T say that
ps. Greets everyone @ PixarPlanet!
pps: found the scene. If it is where Eve slams the door of a bio-wc seeking for a plant, I heard her saying ‘Aargh!’… Let it be ‘baah’, but not the f word. Anyway, this aargh or baah is a sigh of annoyance mixed with deep despair
Oh, I have found one more place where Eve said something like that. It is when [spoil]she’s trying to find a replacement for Walle-s burnt microchip in the junk section aboard the Axiom[/spoil]
No, that is ‘baah!’
im just kidding around here but what about after the space walk scene and just before eve and wall-e fly back into the ship and lock burn-e out, eve says “ho” now im just being stupid here so don’t take it seriously.
but i kinda laughed in the theater when i first saw it because i thought she said… you know. and people were all like what are you laughing at.
but i’m pretty sure she said “home” or something.
The first time when Eve gets frustrated at not finding the plant under the car hood, she definitely says “baah”. But when she looks in the port-o-potty and doesn’t find the plant, she does say “**ck” and then slams the door. I was watching this part of the movie with my husband and his friend and when she said the naughty word we all looked at each other astounded at what all of us heard at the same time then we started laughing but my 4 year old daughter had no idea what we were laughing at. Now whenever I hear that part of the movie, I start laughing. And even if Disney/Pixar didn’t mean for it to sound like the “F” word, it just makes it that much more funny.
Haha, yeah, I’m glad I’m not alone in my opinion that an f-word slipped through somehow! (Or something that sounds like the f-word. I’ve been following this thread for a while now, interesting to read about what people think.) I also think something “interesting” slipped through in BURN-E too!
What’s more remarkable is that upon noticing, I showed the scene to some friends who didn’t see WALL-E in the theater and they immediately gasped, then passed out laughing…
I didn’t notice the potential f-bomb in the theater, though. However, I swore that another robot said something when WALL-E was caught in that traffic jam on the Axiom as he tried to get to EVE.
That is totally “baaahh”! She just slammed the door.
I saw that too. I’m sure that’s just another robot sound. Pixar hasnt had any “adult” material in any of their movies so far (that I know of), why would they start now?
Actually, I’ve noticed quite a bit of innuendo in Pixar films. Sometimes they’re dirty, and other times it’s just potty humor, but they’re always subtle enough to fly right over the heads of those in the audience not old enough to get such humor. (Also, WALL-E was the only movie I’ve never seen this in, unless I missed something; they had the bra bit, but that’s more slap-stick “lol look he’s wearing female underwear” than a risque reference)
Anyway, I never really thought of that as the f-word until it was mentioned (I took it as a frustrated “Ahhh!”) Of course, I could be psyching myself out, but when I listened to it again I could see how someone might take that as a curse word.
I wouldn’t put it past poor EVE; she strikes me as the kind of robot to let a couple profanities slip from time to time.
Ok, thinking back on this again, I’m pretty sure Elissa didn’t record it because Ben or Andrew would have obviously heard it and then someone would have gotten in trouble for it, and Ben did not change it because Andrew would have noticed, and if Andrew had let him change it, again, someone would be in trouble for it.
And it sounds nothing like the f word.
But the “ho” is still getting to me. Someone here did say that it was probably just a robot sound, but if Elissa recorded the sound and it sounded like “ho” then I’m 100% sure Ben and Andrew would’ve noticed, because on the DVD Ben was joking about how he would play just one little sound and then Andrew and his group of people would think and have a big discussion about it. So if they discussed that sound, someone must have brought up that maybe it sounded like a bad word.
EVE says “ho” after the spacewalk scene, you know after the part where EVE and Wall-E fly around the Axiom, yeah and Wall-E runs out of fire extinguisher and EVE “catches” him and before she flies back into the Axiom with Wall-E and locks out Burn-E I heard her say something like “ho” or “home”
