Pixarfan: Yes, I loved that part. Am I the only one who wonders how Mater lost his hood in the first place?
Jordan: I honestly don’t see why Cars is considered Pixar’s weakest film (well before the sequel came along ). I mean, even not speaking from a fan point of view, I don’t see anything that would make me think that personally. The worst and weakest Pixar movie would have to be Ratatouille for me and then Cars 2. That’s from an unbiased point of view. If we’re going to talk about favorites, oh then definitely both Cars movies all the way.
I’m gonna have to politely disagree with you Paulisha about Ratatouille being one of Pixar’s weakest. I used to think that before I gave it a re-watch. It’s definitely one of the least excessive Pixar film to children. I enjoyed the first Cars movie but I just thought it was too long and just drug one at points in the film. They could of easily taken out some of the scenes in Radiator Springs to cut down on the time. The first movie definitely had a better moral then its sequel.
I’m glad that you disagree with me, Jordan! You know, I haven’t watched the movie in some time. It might be time for a re-watch. From what I can remember, it never appealed to me. That is true about Cars being a little dragg-ish but I think Cars 2 had that feeling even more and although you’re right, some of the RS scenes could of easily been taken out but I think they were all too important in their own way.
It never really appealed to me either until recently. I just didn’t like the idea of a rat wanting to become a chef in Paris. That’s true. I think they could of possibly some of the dream sequences to cut down a couple minutes.
I was watching Cars yesterday for the first time in months, and the scene where Lightning finds Doc racing alone at Willy’s Butte just sort of gave me a sense of awe. It’s a really good scene.
I do. I realized recently that it can be taken to be slightly unrealistic. I mean, all he had to do was stop. But I guess because Lightning’s not the most calm and rational one. And he thought Sheriff was shooting at him. By the way, when Lightning starts swerving side to side on the road, I always thought he said “Circuiting! Circuiting!” but he says “Serpentine! Serpentine!” which didn’t make sense till I looked it up. That’s what happens when you watch with subtitles.
That Doc scene is awesome. I love the score and the animation really shines in that part with the sunset and the dust and everything.
