In all seriousness, Pixar has never made a sequel just because it’s guaranteed to take in cash. Toy Story 2 was a very suitable break point for the series, and did very fine at the box office. Yet, Toy Story 3 took 11 years. It’s gotta be the Toy Story Toons (hey, it’s technically a sequel), and let’s hope some of his older characters from Toy Story return. But Chunk’s fine, too.
Better title:
Toy Story 4: It’s Toy Story 3 all over again.
More like stopped at 2
Yeah, everyone knows that another sequel would lead to the same events eventually. What’s funny is that my dad was rambling on about how Toy Story 3 was totally setting up a sequel.
Yeah, my family also thought they were setting up a sequel. My dad basically said that Zurg will take over Sunnyside and the main cast returns to stop him. But Toy Story 4 will never happen. Ever.
But I think the most interesting part of this is Jack Angel saying he recorded lines for a Chunk toy, practically confirming his inclusion in wave 3 of the Toy Story Collection.
So true
I hope he’s talking about Toy Story toons, because no one here wants Toy Story to end up like Shrek, and if they are making Toy Story 4 maybe Jack Angel would have a new character, because I doubt the movie would be set in Sunnyside or wherever Rocky ended up.
The Shrek comparison makes me laugh a bit. because even though Im with most of you guys in not wanting to see a TS4, theres just no way it’ll become shrek.
This is how the two have trended in my opinion.
So even if toy story were to drop a bit, there’s still enough leeway that it won’t become Shrek. there has been a steady incline in quality, where as Shrek was a steady decline, save for the last one where it saw a slight improvement (of course at that point the franchise was beyond saving)
But the way I see it, even if toy story were to go below TS3, its still nothing to worry about as long as it doesn’t dive below the first one.
But I think the most interesting part of this is Jack Angel saying he recorded lines for a Chunk toy, practically confirming his inclusion in wave 3 of the Toy Story Collection.
There are non-collection toys that talk too though…
Yeah, but they already made the basic Chunk toy.
Yeah, just like everyone else has been saying… I wouldn’t think too much on it. Pixar already has a ton of projects that they need to work on before they even consider another Toy Story. That and as much as I would actually like to see a TS4 one day hides under computer desk Toy Story needs to be left alone.
I’m perfectly fine with Toy Story shorts. I want more Toy Story shorts.
Anyway, this isn’t the first time that this has happened. I remember a couple of other people getting confused when it was confirmed that Tom Hanks and Tim Allen signed on to a Toy Story 4 along with the other voice actors (far as I am aware). Doesn’t mean that there will be another movie, but it does mean that the voice actors are already on board so we don’t need to worry about any changes in the cast unless someone (unfortunately), passes away.
If another one does happen, this will be the title: Toy Story 4 : Black Friday Woody’s Revenge
In this one, the Woody from the Black Friday version of Toy Story escapes from Pixar’s old computer when some fool opens up the Black Friday Toy Story file, and tries to destroy Woody and the gang with thinner. Um… that sounded a whole lot better in my mind.
What about the Toy Story short that’ll be seen in front of Cars 2 when it is released? Might he have been refering to that?
Maybe he’s suffering from the If’-I-Beg-For-Toy-Story-4-Enough-It-Will-Happen disease Tim Allen and Estelle Harris suffer from!
Like I said, I had plenty of grains of salt ready for this, and Jack Angels’ most likely talking about the Toy Story Toons.
I’d love it if TS4 ever came to light, and I’m absolutely Loving that Epic Woody idea. Perhaps something akin to the 2 Buzz scene we seen in TS2 “Which one’s the real Buzz?” “I am!”
However, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Shrek movies, all four of them. I just don’t want to throw my hat in with the rest in bashing Shrek’s sequels because I rather enjoyed them. But yes, various movies don’t require sequels. There’s a slew of live action movies I could name.
I’m just as eagerly awaiting the TS Shorts.Toons - who knows, perhaps a reprisal of Bo Peep? -Omar
Please, no…I love all 3 films equally, and if the beloved trilogy turns into a Shrek I’m going to get really angry…
What I noticed is he said he recorded “lines for a new Chunk toy”…
Toy Story Collection Chunk?
Only way i would want a TS4 is if they used the circle 7 script which everyone has to admit looked epic Buzz having a recall and the toys having to travel across the world to get him back…Bonnie’s mom could be the one who mails him out seems perfect. But im happy if they do or dont make one all i hope is if they make a 4th they dont screw things up.
The toy story series are about toys and their care for their owner ANDY. The third movie ended the series, and that is the way it needs to stay. And I think (hoping) Jack Angel is talking about his recordings for the toy story toon hawaii vacation, since we’re probably going to be seeing Sunnyside because Ken and Barbie get in Bonnies packpack from there to Bonnies house.
