I was also born the year the first came out. Even so, I can still vaguely remember some segments from it in theaters. That movie just sparked something in me, and I had a Toy Story obsession. I had to get all the toys. Before the movie even came out, my favorite toy was the Buzz Lightyear with space sound effects from Burger King. My current Toy Story collection is mostly from what I got when I was 2-6.
When Toy Story 2 was announced, I was as excited as a four year-old could possibly be. The magazine clippings showing the cool new characters really got me excited (we finally get to see Zurg). I can clearly remember seeing it with my aunt, and I also remember bringing a cool Buzz Lightyear drink cup.
I kid you not, some of the VHS’s were broken because I watched them so much.
i love reading all these stories. i feel like the toy stories really impacted my life and the morals expressed in the movies definitely played a part in shaping who i am today. i truly could not imagine my life without having seen these movies.
It’s kind of strange how I found toy story. It came out when I was a year old, but I had no idea about it till later. In 1997 my family and my good friends family call rented a house in cape cod for a week. Our parents didn’t bring enough things to keep us busy and they were getting frantic. Upon looking, they stumbled upon a VHS the last renters of the house left sitting on top of the tv. It was of course, toy story. Not only did I love the movie as a 3 year old, my parents picked up on the adult jokes as well and thought it was very clever. Next few years I became more and more in love with the movie. I remember getting the small8 inch buzz lightyear thinkway had out in 1998 and thinking I had gone to heaven. When toy story 2 came ou my parents took me to see it the day it came out. In tg space between toy story 2 and 3 I never disliked toy story and always would look at the merchandise in the store but it waste as big a part of my life anymore. When 1 and 2 were put back in theaters I knew I had to go see them. I thouht I was dreaming when 3 was announced. I now like toy story more then ever beceUse not only does it hold alot of memories and pretty much os my childhood, the movies Re jus enjoyable and funny on their own anyway
My Mom bought me the videos for the first two movies and one day I asked her, “Why don’t they make a Toy Story 3?” I don’t remember exactly what she said, but I always remembered that moment and now that there is a third, I am beyond happy. I think we’ve all grown up with Toy Story (whether your 7, 16, or 40), but if you grew up in those limited number of years when you were a kid when the first movie came out, TS3 completes your childhood.
I was 5 or 6 when the movie was released on VHS. I don’t think i watched it in cinemas. But toy story 1 easily became my favourite video watch (along with A goofy movie). I loved this movie to death and i still do .
As corny as this may sound, toy story is like a path to my childhood. It’s nostalgic and perfect in so many ways.
I was 3 I think when I saw Toy Story. It was a couple days before I saw Toy Story 2 in theaters. I remember, the scene with Zurg chasing Buzz, i got scared because i didn’t want him to destroy Buzz. I loved Toy Story after that. I got Mr Potato Head, Buzz, Etch, Slink & Woody. I probably had like 10 Slinkys. They would get tangle up alot. After a Spring cleaning my mom was cleaning the closet & she threw all my toys away. & I had a new Buzz. That was Red, White, & Blue. I didn’t realise that she threw them out until i went into my closet to hang clothes. She thought I didn’t play with them anymore, because she sees me play with my wrestlers alot. I took a break from Toy Story, WWF was popular, & wrestling took over my life basically. Havent heard about Toy Story till last year.
It weird when I was a kid i didn’t get some of the jokes like when Mr Potato Head was smacking his butt with his mouth. But now as a teen, I think its pretty funny.
