Halloween 2011
I think it’s okay to post pics. How are you gonna pull the X-23 costume? You gonna do something for her claws?[/quote:32czzfme]

Thanks! I think I’ll post some of my previous costumes, also  . I’ll post the X-23 ones when it’s done. And, yeah, I’ve got two claws made, and four to six yet to be cut out. But as for the cloths, I can only hope to have them in time. I found some nice stuff at a dance outlet, though, so we’ll see.

I went as Abby Sciuto last year. The scary part was, I looked like her  o_0  ! I was surprised how many people recognized me. And I even had two ask “if my hippo farted.” (You’d probably have to watch NCIS all the time to get it, so here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjH_ea7cPi0 )

And the year before that, I was Violet. I’m really proud of this costume.

Granted, those aren’t from Halloween, because we didn’t do anything of Halloween that year :-\ . And If I can’t get X-23/Larua done in time, I’ll just be Violet ;-) .

I’m being Elastigirl again. The night before Halloween, I’m having a party at my house!! I’m so excited!

I am being Mr. Incredible this year

Violet Parr, you have the most amazing costumes! It’s really good. You really do look like Violet and Abby from their respected movie/show. I’m so jealous! Wonderful!

Seems like there’s a lot of Incredibles this year  .

TSS- Thanks  ! I worked really hard on them, and I intend to bring the same quality to my X-23 costume (even if I have to loose a few pounds  ) I don’t like to do things half-butt  . But I had to make them myself for them to look like the characters. Sad. You can’t get much of any quality from Halloween stores any more.

8D Yes, there do seem to be! It’s clearly my fault. o_0 8D

What was everyone’s favorite constume? mine i think would be my Link constume when I was 10.

Definitely my current one. <3 I also really liked my Jasmine(from Aladdin) costume from when I was like 8 I think.

Hehe  ! Maybe, but who’s mad at ya for it  ?!

Pixarfan91- Well, need I even answer this question  ? Well, I will anyways… My Violet costume  . I’ve really gotten to see it improve since the movie first came out. And I still want to fix things ;-o (i.e. the belt needs to be smoother, and the leg tights need to be thicker). But I’m very happy with it, none-the-less  .

Here’s all the costume’s I think I did.

5- Barney
6- Woody
7- Dog
8- Charmander
9- Dexter
10- Link
11- Goku
12- Ninja
13- Skeleaton
14- Ghost
15- Demon

15 was my last year of Trick or Treating.

I still need an orange belt for my costume, and my boots fell apart( :`-( ), so I need to replace them. I’ve been trying to find an orange belt for 3 years, so I being to think I’ll never find one.

You could make it yourself. That’s what I did. If you take a trip to a fabric store (Joann has really great stuff), you could make a belt and close it with snaps or velcro. Here’s something you could use: joann.com/joann/catalog/prod … xprd728523

Ooh, thanks, Vi!! I might have to do that. 8D My costume didn’t come with a belt, because it was already open when we bought it. :frowning:

I can’t wait for Halloween! It’s so close.

IncredigirlVirginia- Glad I could help  ! That sucks that it didn’t come with one. But the good news is, they’re pretty easy to make.

TSS- I know  ! Me too! But, to be honest, I’m even more excited for Christmas starts jingling sleigh bells. 8D

Well, I’ve got my claws =D ! I found some Wolverine claws at Target (it was all God there, they were just sitting there, by themselves!). I’m altering them to be like X-23/Laura’s and to fit my hands. They’re gonna be a lot better that the ones I was gonna make. And I found a dance site with everything I need. I’m gonna do this outfit: marvel.com/comic_books/issue/1639/x-23_2005_3

Wow, that’s awesome, Vi!!! That’ll be a great costume.

Anyone gonna watch scary movies on Halloween?

^There’s actually a possibility of me and a few friends going to see Cars 2 at a dollar theatre (they haven’t seen it yet), but no promises, unfortunately. If we don’t get to, I’ll stay at home to watch Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas

I am busy with school that day and the day after. I’m not going to any parties, and I’m much to old for trickortreating.

I’m not really doing anything either as it turns out. Might get a witches hat if I can tomorrow though in case of trick or treaters.

Here’s an interesting story. Not exactly creepy but rather strange. And thought provoking in its own way even though I’m skeptical of an afterlife and god existing. A community I’m part of on lj which likes spooky stuff brought it to my attention:
The Egg
By: Andy Weir

You were on your way home when you died.

It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me.

And that’s when you met me.

“What… what happened?” You asked. “Where am I?”

“You died,” I said, matter-of-factly. No point in mincing words.

“There was a… a truck and it was skidding…”
“Yup,” I said.
“I… I died?”
“Yup. But don’t feel bad about it. Everyone dies,” I said.

You looked around. There was nothingness. Just you and me. “What is this place?” You asked. “Is this the afterlife?”

“More or less,” I said.
“Are you god?” You asked.
“Yup,” I replied. “I’m God.”
“My kids… my wife,” you said.
“What about them?”
“Will they be all right?”
“That’s what I like to see,” I said. “You just died and your main concern is for your family. That’s good stuff right there.”

You looked at me with fascination. To you, I didn’t look like God. I just looked like some man. Or possibly a woman. Some vague authority figure, maybe. More of a grammar school teacher than the almighty.

“Don’t worry,” I said. “They’ll be fine. Your kids will remember you as perfect in every way. They didn’t have time to grow contempt for you. Your wife will cry on the outside, but will be secretly relieved. To be fair, your marriage was falling apart. If it’s any consolation, she’ll feel very guilty for feeling relieved.”

“Oh,” you said. “So what happens now? Do I go to heaven or hell or something?”
“Neither,” I said. “You’ll be reincarnated.”
“Ah,” you said. “So the Hindus were right,”
“All religions are right in their own way,” I said. “Walk with me.”

You followed along as we strode through the void. “Where are we going?”

“Nowhere in particular,” I said. “It’s just nice to walk while we talk.”
“So what’s the point, then?” You asked. “When I get reborn, I’ll just be a blank slate, right? A baby. So all my experiences and everything I did in this life won’t matter.”

“Not so!” I said. “You have within you all the knowledge and experiences of all your past lives. You just don’t remember them right now.”

I stopped walking and took you by the shoulders. “Your soul is more magnificent, beautiful, and gigantic than you can possibly imagine. A human mind can only contain a tiny fraction of what you are. It’s like sticking your finger in a glass of water to see if it’s hot or cold. You put a tiny part of yourself into the vessel, and when you bring it back out, you’ve gained all the experiences it had.

“You’ve been in a human for the last 48 years, so you haven’t stretched out yet and felt the rest of your immense consciousness. If we hung out here for long enough, you’d start remembering everything. But there’s no point to doing that between each life.”

“How many times have I been reincarnated, then?”
“Oh lots. Lots and lots. An in to lots of different lives.” I said. “This time around, you’ll be a Chinese peasant girl in 540 AD.”

“Wait, what?” You stammered. “You’re sending me back in time?”
“Well, I guess technically. Time, as you know it, only exists in your universe. Things are different where I come from.”
“Where you come from?” You said.
“Oh sure,” I explained “I come from somewhere. Somewhere else. And there are others like me. I know you’ll want to know what it’s like there, but honestly you wouldn’t understand.”

“Oh,” you said, a little let down. “But wait. If I get reincarnated to other places in time, I could have interacted with myself at some point.”
“Sure. Happens all the time. And with both lives only aware of their own lifespan you don’t even know it’s happening.”
“So what’s the point of it all?”
“Seriously?” I asked. “Seriously? You’re asking me for the meaning of life? Isn’t that a little stereotypical?”
“Well it’s a reasonable question,” you persisted.
I looked you in the eye. “The meaning of life, the reason I made this whole universe, is for you to mature.”
“You mean mankind? You want us to mature?”
“No, just you. I made this whole universe for you. With each new life you grow and mature and become a larger and greater intellect.”
“Just me? What about everyone else?”
“There is no one else,” I said. “In this universe, there’s just you and me.”
You stared blankly at me. “But all the people on earth…”
“All you. Different incarnations of you.”
“Wait. I’m everyone!?”
“Now you’re getting it,” I said, with a congratulatory slap on the back.
“I’m every human being who ever lived?”
“Or who will ever live, yes.”
“I’m Abraham Lincoln?”
“And you’re John Wilkes Booth, too,” I added.
“I’m Hitler?” You said, appalled.
“And you’re the millions he killed.”
“I’m Jesus?”
“And you’re everyone who followed him.”
You fell silent.

“Every time you victimized someone,” I said, “you were victimizing yourself. Every act of kindness you’ve done, you’ve done to yourself. Every happy and sad moment ever experienced by any human was, or will be, experienced by you.”
You thought for a long time.
“Why?” You asked me. “Why do all this?”
“Because someday, you will become like me. Because that’s what you are. You’re one of my kind. You’re my child.”
“Whoa,” you said, incredulous. “You mean I’m a god?”
“No. Not yet. You’re a fetus. You’re still growing. Once you’ve lived every human life throughout all time, you will have grown enough to be born.”
“So the whole universe,” you said, “it’s just…”
“An egg.” I answered. “Now it’s time for you to move on to your next life.”
And I sent you on your way.
