And I wholeheartedly agree with your views on the word “crush”. It just strikes me as silly or childish. 
And as you said, people’s opinions on Rapunzel’s childishness probably stem mostly from her innocent personality. I think she looks a lot like an 18-year-old that was brought up by a more conservative family–not to get political or anything. She’s not trying so hard to grow up. I think also because a lot of past Disney princesses like Aurora appear to be wearing lipstick or eyeliner and have more angular, “mature” features. I think that simply matches the idealism of the 50’s.
That makes a lot of sense, Leirin. I agree with pretty much everything you said. And crush is sort of a weird word, now that I think about it.

Oh, here’s my first time posting on this thread… 
My cartoon crush is currently Prince Zuko from Avatar: the Last Airbender. Especially when he’s got his late Season 2/Season 3 hairstyle.
Earlier I realized that I just have too many of these.
As I’ve mentioned before, Rapunzel is like the total epitome of cartoon crushes for me. 
Others would be Hello Nurse from Animaniacs, Aurora/Rose from Sleeping Beauty, and Malon of Lon Lon Ranch from Legend Of Zelda (specifically the older version from Ocarina Of Time). 
And you know, if I were a girl I’d totally have a crush on Cosmos from Fairly Odd Parents. He’s awesome.

Haha, yup. That just goes for cartoons though. I’m not really sure how much I like them in real life.
