I emailed Brad Bird I think reply will come in a month or so like John’s. Then I’ll ask for Lee’s (his film is responsible for making me cry twice in one showing)!
I wrote to Lee Unkrich, director of “Toy Story 3”, several months ago, and about decided that I wasn’t going to get anything from him because it had been so long…but I thought wrong! Today I got a personalized, typed and signed letter from him where he thanked me for writing, told me he didn’t include the sketches I requested because he isn’t a very good artist and he wished me luck with Animation Mentor, the animation school I am about to start! He also sent me an autographed and personalized “Toy Story 3” glossy photo. This success makes me so happy because that films was amazing and one of my favorites, not to mention, the Toy Story characters are almost apart of me…I grew up watching them as a kid and they are the reason I am now going to school to be animator.
I also got an autographed “The Incredibles” photo from Brad Bird today as well. This is my second success from him!
This leaves two more directors that I am still trying to get sketches or even an autograph from: John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton. It seams to me Andrew should be fairly easy to get in touch with, like the others, but I haven’t seen any successes come from him at all…not giving up hope yet though!
Wow, WFDowns, you win. I have the Incredibles, and I wrote about Toy Story, with n o reply, three months later.
Wowzers, Willie. Congrats!!! That’s unbelievable. I think I’ll have to write personally to someone soon
I would, but I don’t know there address or studio address.
Thanks Modeltrainman. I send them a letter. It seems better and I get a letter back. I would proberly delate a Email one unless it was a personal letter.
I got Mr. Lasseter’s email address through the mail. I emailed them though. I emailed them about TS3 how it prepared me for college etc. ,no reply yet.
wfdowns3: I’m impressed! Those are two nice autographs, and I think you’re the first person here to upload an autograph from Lee Unkrich (I’m jealous!)
Good luck and have fun at Animation Mentor, they’re a great school. I have a t-shirt from them!
If you request an autograph by email, will they send you an email saying they’re going to send you one or do you just have to wait in the mail?
I sent 2 drawings to pixar studios and 3 weeks later got a photo of Toy Story 2

Congrats Guitarlynn! It looks amazing! Opening that manila envelope is amazing, isn’t it? Is that a real signature, like in Sharpie?
I love it Guitarlynn! All of these posts keep reminding me to write to Pixar!
Wait on the mail and see.
Wow, that’s quite a success there, wfdowns3! Love that Lee Unkrich said he wasn’t very good at sketching, haha. At least he’s honest!
And congrats to you, Guitarlynn53! You didn’t have to wait very long either!
A couple months ago, I wrote to Pixar and asked them to send me 2 pictures - one of “A Bug’s Life” with John Lasseter’s autograph and one of “WALL-E” with Andrew Stanton’s autograph. I waited for a while, and finally, I got the call at school from my litte sister telling me that I got something from Pixar!!! I was so happy! Of course, I think the autographs were electronically copied onto the pictures, but I still think it was so nice for Pixar to actually fulfill my request for those two pictures! I have them up on my wall, and I think of them as my own little pieces of Pixar…
Wow, a bug’s life one? You should post a picture of it, I’d like to see what it looks like! And the Andrew Stanton one too!
Wow! Congratulations!!! That sounds amazing. Lucky duck, you got two! I asked for two too, but only got Pete Docter’s. Congrats again! I’d love to see what they look like
So I met Lee Unkrich and Darla Anderson today after the HIFF panel (which was great by the way).
It was a quick meeting but I have a feeling that Lee knew who I was through Twitter.
They signed my Art of TS3 book for me.
So now I have 4 Pixarian autographs. Lee, Darla, Pete Docter, and Steve Purcell (I’m not sure if I’ve ever posted my Steve autograph here, but whatever).
That’s so cool, Bryko!
