I did it! I made EAGLE!

I finally did it. I passed my Border Review and I have achieved the Boy Scot Rank, Eagle. The highest rank that can be achieved in Scouting. I’ve been in Scouting since Cub Scouting. And I have finally made it to Eagle.

Now I must plan my Eagle Ceremony. I’m going to have in the coming month or two.

Anyways, I’m so happy now! But in shock that i made it.

Congratulations! There’s nothing like the high spirted feeling you get when you finally achieved something you worked hard for.

Congratulations!! What a wonderful award for all your hard work!

That’s wonderful! Congratulations! My brothers are both Boy Scouts with their sights set on Eagle, and I’ve earned my Girl Scout Gold Award [they say it’s the equivilent of Eagle, but Eagle harder].

What was your project?

Congratulations!!!

I heartily congratulate you on your success…

That sounds so cool! Congratulations, nightwheel! What did you have to do to get Eagle status?

Uh my project was cutting down tress at my church about 2 and half years ago years ago. (Yes I did procrastinate on getting my Eagle done.) It was done to help make way for a parking lot that has still yet to be made. We did the project in the winter to avoid snakes.

WE were going to cut down in the ballpark of 15 trees. But we had a family friend who had a chain saw. And he got inspired and became Paul Bunion. We had 50 trees fell at the end of the day. And the original plan was to cut up the fallen trees and bring the cut wood to our troops personal camp site. (Which we no longer have now.) But towards the last minute, my former scoutmaster’s wife came to me after she heard that someone in a county over. A lady needed wood to fuel her wood burning furnace that she used to heat her house during the winter. So instead of taking the wood to the troop site, we took it to her. (It took a few loads to get all the wood to her.) When we got there, all she had to heat her house was scraps for the nearby Lumber Yard that she got for free.

And thank god we did give her all that wood. A few days after giving her the wood. We had one of the worst winter storms in years hit this area. She would have most likely died if she didn’t have all that wood to heat her house.

I had around 150 to 200 hours involved with the project from when it was all said and done. That included the planning, the project it’s self, and transporting the wood to the nice lady.

@lizardgirl: This should answer you question: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle_Scou … of_America

nightwheel- Wow, that sounds like a lot of hard work! All those requirements…Once again, congratulations!

Congratulations nightwheel!

Congratulations to you nightwheel.

Congrads on the achievement, nightwheel! It’s always great to reap the rewards of your work!

Congrats, when I first read the subject I thought you were talking about golf.

@Lizzardgirl: The closest UK equivalent of Eagle Scout in the UK Scouting movement is I think Queen’s Scout from what I read on Wikipedia. And what I have heard from people on other forums. I hope that makes it easier for you relate to my achievement this is since you don’t live in the states.

nightwheel- There are boy’s scouts and stuff like that here, though I’ve never heard of the Queen’s Scouts. The American style scouting reminds me of the Duke of Edinburgh award, where there’s Bronze, Silver and Gold and you have to do certain things to achieve them. And since it’s very hard to get the Gold, I can see that it would be hard to achieve Eagle!
