It's Official: 1000 Members!

what is that???

I don’t know… I can just see it because he’s our 1000th member.

hm…maybe…there is always something special about new users though…But it is nice to have our 1000th user posting regualrly its a great finish.

It doesn’t have to be Scyther, but I would take a regular, active member anyday, whether they are member 1000 or not.

Woo! I was wondering when this would be made… and also, Huzzah! Our 1000th member actually posted! Congrads, Scyther!
To Pixar Planet and it’s future… whatever it may hold!

Cheers!

Yay! Perhaps they knew we were all talking about them.

yep just a little…

Huzzah! Congrats Pixar Planet!!!

Kinda late, but better to celebrate late than never right?

Hahahaha, true that! A whole MONTH late

But I only just joined and only just saw the announcement when I was looking around…

Congratulations to Pixar Planet and its administrators, moderators, members, and affiliates for reaching this historic milestone! It’s fans like you guys who keep this place on its toes and looking great.

I dunno if I replied to this but am too tired to look …

Nice that we’ve reached 1000 members, but sadly you don’t see enough of them online … well, I dunno, to me that’s better - I love forums that are less populated. x) People don’t go unnoticed or unheard.

FONY - I agree. The less populated the board… the more comfortable I feel.

– Mitch

I agree with you two as well, but I guess the more crowded the boards of a forum I am on, the more like “part of the group”.

Well, there are positives and negatives to both. I, personally, agree with Mitch and FONY in that I like the smaller forums. They feel more like a community that knows each other and, no one’s voice goes unheard. (Just had to repeat it! )

Although with a bigger forum, there’s more posts and more people to express ideas and if you’re gone for a day, when you get back, you’ll spend hours looking through all the new posts.

But forums like these get hard to manage after a while. Finding trustworthy people to be moderators and such becomes harder than it should be. And even then, mods can feel overwhelmed with the amount of post editing, deleting, and such they may have to do on a daily basis.

Remy14:

You can say that again. What I find relaxing is that there are only a select few of really active members, so that cuts off my work load by a lot.

Remy14 - The task of moderating the forums does, indeed, become increasingly more tedious with the addition of new members. However, as The Star Swordsman stated, the percentage of truly active members here is quite low – I’d say it would be around 20%, if that.

Although it’s great to be part of a thriving community, I’m glad that I, like the other moderators, don’t have to do too much trimming and pruning overall.

The Mods should patrol certain areas…that way it would be easier…

Just my 2 cents…

Al-Bob: Well, we don’t have certain areas assigned to us. We just go on to the topics we vidit frequently, and if we see posting errors, we correct it.

I see…

I guess that works but only in areas that mods visit often…if there was a certain area that wasn’t viewed at all an error could slip by fairly easily. But of cource with the mods here at pixar planet it should never happen…
