Yeah, frankly originality doesn’t factor in all that much anymore when it
comes to movies. Movies have existed for over a century now, and similarities between movies, no matter how
subtle, should exist. I am even willing to bet that the second feature length movie ever made had some
similarities to the first feature length movie 
With that said, when it comes to movies with similar or almost
identical premises, I only truly care about the quality of the viewing experience (i.e., whether one or both of
the movies is/are good.)
