These four Toy Story key chains are only sold in Lego stores in Japan. I was told they would be sold in other country’s Lego stores from the sales staff here. The pics are from Yahoo auction sites, but I haven’t found them in any other sites yet. They are about $5.50US.
I own the first wave of these, and I’ve built RC and Buzz’s spaceship so far. RC is a great little representation of the character, even if he is a bit on the big side compared to Buzz and Woody. Buzz’s spaceship is actually a really good spaceship build. This is coming from someone who owned a lot of space Lego back in the day. The design aesthetics are quite similar to some of the better mid-90s stuff.
Looking at the new stuff, I’m definitely getting that train.
May 27th in Japan. I called the Lego toll free number, where I live, and Lego can not divulge product information about Disney/Pixar due to contract agreement until the end of May. You could ask a rookie sales clerk in the Lego store for information.
So today is May first, the date new sets are supposed to be out. I went to two Targets, two Wal-Marts, and a Toys R’ Us. (All amid tornado warnings and torrential rain ) My goal was a Pizza Planet Rescue set. Sadly, no store had it. Target and TRU had squat in terms of new Lego sets. The Wal-Marts had the following new sets but no truck.
Trash Compacter Escape
Lotso's Dump Druck
Western Train Set
Duplo Western Train Set
Duplo Jessie's Round-up
Duplo Pizza Planet Truck
I was in Disney World this week on my senior trip, and I went to the Lego store and all the sets were available. I was unable to pick up the sets since I was low on cash. I did snag a Mike and Wall-E doll, though.
Got the LEGO magazine today. There wasn’t much about Toy Story, however. Expectedly, they must be trying to keep that under the radar until Toy Story 3 hits theaters. It did, however, have a neat comic, giving a sneak peak of the new train set. As some may have guessed, it invovles [spoil]Dr. Porkchop[/spoil]. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t give away any plot details, though.
The back cover also features a Toy Story 3 movie poster, but this time, with LEGO minifigures. Now, it shows a new alien that appears to be damaged from daycare.
