I don’t get that one…are you saying you hate “religion” or that there are too many religions so you hate all religions?

Neither.
oh…okay
It isn’t i don’t like religon. Personally, I just don’t like ignorant people who think their religon is superior to others.
i do believe that some religions are more moral or have better principle but there isn’t a power pole…agreed on that topic.
If you don’t know how to respond to a question ask a question about the questions…
The greatest responce is a question…
Here is a life lesson I learned from Crush the Turtle at Disneyland: Treat everyone like an oyster, because you never know when you are going to find a pearl.
“Religion divides, but faith unites.”
I made that up now.
So true though. Requires a bit of in-depth discussion that I’m not in the mood to dive into at the moment. I’ve had enough of Philosophy class for this week.
what is should be is…
Differing Religious viewpoints divide…faith in one thing unites.
Al-Bob: Errr … yeah, no. If there was one thing for everyone to have to follow, well … people just don’t like being told what they should believe in. And it wouldn’t be any fun, if everyone is the same.
Then again, most faiths all lead up to one single divine power, be it Buddha, God, Mother Nature, Allah, etc.
But I shouldn’t say that because there are polytheistic people out there.
I guess you can say we all believe in higher powers in general, atheists aside.
Here’s what I learned today: Don’t be an irresponsible numb-nut. You never know just how much you could be screwing things up for people when you don’t do what you say you’re going to do.
Story: I plan on being in the Disney College Program next summer. If anyone doesn’t know what that is, it’s an internship where you go to work at Disney World or Disneyland. I signed up for a character role, which is the people who dress up in costumes and are in parades, shows, or just the characters walking around signing autographs. To put it briefly, this is one of my dreams. So I was supposed to audition for it this morning, but the girl who agreed to give me a ride to the audition location forgot. I had to pound on her door half an hour before the sign in time to remind her. She had just woken up, and she suddenly realized she didn’t actually have the car she said she would have. So now I can’t audition. And although there are other non-character jobs that don’t require an audition, I’m afraid that since I missed the audition, they won’t let me be in the Disney College Program period. Because the recruiters don’t care what you’re excuse is. Whatever it is, it’s always your fault if you didn’t get to the audition on time.
The funny thing is it was this girl’s job to be reliable and helpful. It’s a long story, but basically I was assigned to her and another girl who are supposed to visit me once a month and help me when I ask for help and they are willing and able. So when you say to someone, “Is there anything we can do for you?” and they tell you what you need help with, you don’t agree to help them unless you actually can. So after backing out last minute, she had no idea how that made me feel. Absolutely no idea.
Just wanna say - summer is madness - everyone who goes to regular college applies for that semester (so they don’t have to take a semester out of college) and on top of that, obviously, a lot of people vacation in Disney in the summer.
I was thinking of applying then until I considered those two things, and I applied for and was accepted to this coming Spring instead.
Le_Chocolat: I’m sorry to hear your story That totally blows! But two things: One, tell her how that made you feel! Don’t be mean about it, but at least let her know that she disappointed you and let her know how much of a dream that is for you. She may help you out later, or at the very least, give you an apology. Or she’ll never know what’s wrong and you’ll just keep resenting her. So me life lesson 1: “Communication is key”
Two, as in Fairly Odd New Yorker’s case, there are other semesters and you can audition again. Life Lesson 2: “Just don’t give up - persistence pays!”
Dory (Finding Nemo): When life gets you down do you wanna know what you’ve gotta do? Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.
Sorry to hear about what happened, Le_Chocolat. I agree with CoCoMeister; you should tell this person how what happened made you feel.
(for students) In 20 years, It wont matter what shirt you wore, how cool your shoes were, or what hairstyle you had. What will matter is what you learned and how you used it.
I got another quote that I found inspiring, especially for writers. It was quoted in the book Inkspell.
“All I need is a sheet of paper
and something to write with, and then
I can turn the world upside down.”
~ Friedrich Nietzsche
I was inspired by this quote from a famous surrealism painter (but I forgot her name).
“As a child, I’ve always wanted to possess magical powers. I finally did that by becoming an artist.”
If you’re something else, just replace the word “artist” with writer, animator, actor, teacher, doctor, inventor, scientist, anything at all!
