Mitch - I’ll see what I can do, but you know how parents are.
Very cute pictures of Remy,
Mitch! I’d say that they’re fairly accurate.
I’m curious so please
don’t get mad at me; why is it that you have different numbers of whiskers on him and why only two or
three?
How about some Monster’s, Inc.
ones ? Could you do that after the Remy sketches ? You did such a good job with Randall a while
back and I for one, would like to see you tackle Monster’s , Inc. some more.
AnnoyingPerson95 - tries to make out what that second sentence says
Yes,
I know…something something. (snigger)
sharpie - Heheh – thank you!
Good question. I’ll usually just draw an uneven number of whiskers on each drawing of a particular
character…depending on what mood I’m in. Sometimes I feel like sketching out Remy with three whiskers, and
other times it will be two, or even none.
Bill - Sure thing! Is there any
particular character from Monsters Inc. that you would like me to draw?
Desiree – Remy’s Mother:
n
Emile:
The “Art of Ratatouille” book was used as reference for both
pictures.
Remy’s mother, Desiree, hosts a palette of very rich and decadent
colors…which I did my best to reconstruct on paper with a few colored pencils. It didn’t turn out as good as I
would have liked it to, but I’m still rather pleased with how the anatomy presented itself in the end.
I’m having an absolutely blast discovering how to draw characters in
various poses. It’s like candy…only better… It’s just fascinating to learn how, when the head turns this
way —> …you can only see part of the face and have to draw it out accordingly, or if a character is
squashed…a certain amount of “character squishing” is required, and so on and so forth… It’s
just…fun!
Emile looks great Mitch , I
can see you did that one before we found out what his name really was.
How about Mr. Waternoose ?
Gave you a hard one didn’t I ?
Oh my gosh, I just realized that I wrote down
“Rollie” instead of “Emile”! And I just drew that picture only a few minutes ago, too. I
guess I’m still used to his “old” name before we found out what his real one was.
And noooo!
Not Mr. Waternoose! Although, I guess I could try it…
I
love that you used color in that one. Nice work Mitch.
Thanks!
Heh, funny mistake.
I
love both of them, Emile’s expression is hilarious! And the coloring is amazing.
You are totally welcome.
AnnoyingPerson95 - Thank you very much!
The Star
Swordsman - Haha. “Totally welcome”. That made me chuckle.
Glad I was able to Mitch.
Okay then, cool!
Mitch-Nice picture of Emile, just
wonderful and I love Deseree. I wasn’t aware that that particular rat was her.
I love the Emile one, but I
must say Desiree is my favorite. I love her pose and the colors you used. Great work!
Nice drawings Mitch! Were there any
more picture of Remy’s mom from the Art of Ratatouille book? BTW: What color is Remy’s mom?
sharpie - Merci!
Maggie - Thank you!
JV - Much obliged, dude! There were only a couple of pictures of Remy’s
mom: one was a clay model of her in the pose that I drew her in, and another was of her holding a bunch of baby
rats. She had a very annoyed expression in the second picture.
As for her coloration, I can’t really
describe it. She is decorated in sort of a rich, reddish-brown color…with a peach-/pink-covered chest. You
should buy the book, dude. It’s awesome.
Very nice, Mitch! Desiree is beautifully shaded in, and I love the expression on her
face. Emile looks very good, too- he’s got just the right amount of furriness and that expression on his
face…!
lizardgirl - Thank you very much!
Someone (I believe it was you,
Bill) asked me to draw the old lady (Mabel) in
Ratatouille some time ago. However, I have decided that I will hold off from drawing
her until I gain more experience in sketching out humans. Sorry, dude. I want it to look good, though!
Heheh…
I will, however, take a jab at Waternoose. He is an interesting character and I’m kind of
anxious to see how hard it is to draw those many legs…
On the plus
side…

Remy looks adorable! Nice
work mitch. Looking at it just makes me hungry.
