My policy is simple - if you’re nice, you’re cool. Though many Malays (whose skin are of a brown hue) have been in conflict with me in the past, some of them - or rather, my Malay classmates - seemed as nice as any ordinary people, and definitely not clownish jerks. I’ve made friends with them and they were quite friendly towards me.
Besides, it’s only logical that skin color does not define one’s personality; a person’s actions do. So, if you’re an overall nice person and just not nice to me, it would somehow not be right for me to hate you… dislike you, maybe, but to purposely call you names and stuff just because you are not nice to me (hypothetically speaking, of course) would not be right and definitely would not make me a very nice person (the right thing would be to find out why you are treating me that way, but I’d probably be too stubborn to do so xD).
Besides, I’ve admired many African American celebrities, like Will The Smith! Hah, yeah! Gotto love the movies starring him. Then there’s Don Cheadle; great actor. Jamie Foxx, love his acting and the characters he played (though his own character seemed nice as well). Denzel Washington; another great actor with excellent characters and, again, a seemingly good character. Ice Cube seems fine as well (love “Are We There Yet?”). And let’s not forget Eddie Murphy, the king of comedy. Then, of course, there’s Orlando Brown (his character as “Dobbs” in “Max Keeble’s Big Move” was great), Kyle Massey (Cory was the bomb), Kenan Thompson (Whhhhhyyyyyy?!) & Kel Mitchell (AWWWW, HERE IT GOES!).
Of course, there are females, too. This includes Raven-Symoné (love “That’s So Raven”), Rihanna (had a crush on her when I first saw her in “Bring It On: All Or Nothing”), and Beyoncé (another cute one). I relate with the boys much more. However, I am acquainted with several of my female classmates, as well, close friends, even.
My mum, however, feels a little threatened by black people (no offense) due to an incident occurred in her childhood. See, there was this guy who spitted on her arm when she was a young child. She knew not much of it, then, but when she grew up… well, you can see where this is going.
Nevertheless, she still compliments some of the ‘Blacks’ (no offense) as well, even calling some of them as friendly (one of them said ‘Hi’ to her… that’s pretty much all I’ve heard from her… but, anyway).
Today, I’m still pretty tight with African-Americans traditions, even aspired to follow some of them (heh, always kinda tried to perform rap). Some of their moves are kinda cool, but to me, they’re again, as cool as any ordinary human.
We are all equal as one. We are who we are, not what we appeared to be, whites, blacks, yellows (still kinda sensitive to that term, ironically ). We are one big happy family!
